PSAT October 15 CR Compilation Thread

Does anyone remember that supercillious question in exact wording?

I carely remember it’s something negative about that person?

the first answer to Alex the great is questionable. the question specifically* asks what the “other” in a certain line meant. it involved his being ego maniacal or something -cal. I don’t think it was because he had divergent views.

That’s what I got, powerbomb

writing question on calcium?? anyone??

nvm. i was confused by the order of the answers. could you switch the order? the power obsessive appears first.

this is a CR thread guys, not a writing

and the calcium question was not no error, it was ‘appear’, it should have been calcium…appears

on the writing section with calcium stoking the body or whatever, was that no error???

I think there is an plural-singluar agreement error?

I believe the calcium one had an error. I just can’t remember where. I believe it had something to do with one of the verbs being in plural form when it should’ve been in singular since calcium is singular. Sorry, I can’t remember the wording of the question.

Oh btw I think there is a question about “Somber” for one of the SC questions.

no stoke was wrong

its calcium stokes

its supposed to be plural because calcium is singular

hey do you guys know the one about mt. st helens

was it explosive/belied

did anyone get pounce on or misanthropic for a SC answer?

i think it was explosive… belied

k good i just remember explosive, i didnt remember blied, i just hoped they went together

btw the one with appartment dwellers, my friend (who got 80 on reading PSAT as sophomore, 224 overall) said it was urban affluance, and NOT wordly awareness

however, i see that a majority of people said worldy awareness, what do you guys think (the last couple of paragrahs talked about worldy awareness and not affluence, i think)

it was one with the information psaaage and it said what is the fundamental differnce between apartment dwellers/someone else

yea it’s supercilious

do you guys remember the one about the parallels? I believe it was in the information passage. I believe one of the choices was people wanting to travel

^ yes its explosive/belied
belied=to give a false impression of..so even though the volcano was quiet at times it gave a false impression b/c it did in fact explode

i put it represented a common view (the one that talked about a regligious isolationist or something?-like desert island?)

if not that question, anything that had travel i put they had worldy awarenss

what’s wrong with voltile…subdued?

Yea its definitely the belied one… I put subdued, I even changed my answer because I thought belied didn’t fit (forgot what it meant). Oh well.

It is definitely supercilious for that one, I looked it up and effusive makes no sense at all.

supercilious: behaving or looking as though one thinks one is superior to others

effusive: expressing feelings of gratitude, pleasure, or approval in an unrestrained or heartfelt manner
