PSAT prediction score

New prediction: 234

I don't see myself getting anything about 210, so I'm hoping for national achievement to pull through for me

I'm looking at a 212

80 math
68 verbal
64 Writing

Math: 80
Cr: 74
Writing: 72

Total: 226
Cutoff: CA...215

my (new) prediction

m-50 (I bombed math)
cr-74
w-70

total 194 (eh...realism is better than idealism)

how do you guys know how you did? i read the threads with the answers, but i still can't come up with a good prediction. I know of four math questions i missed (2 gridins), i omitted 3 CRs and im pretty sure i missed another CR. i don't think i missed any writing. i really don't know how many other math and CRs i missed though... there's no way i can live with this till december:)
cutoff for my state: ~214

70 m (i PRAY)
65 cr
70 writing

205 total.. live in new york, so no merit for me :D

M: 74 (at least 2 mistakes...damn it!)
W: 74
CR: 67, or so I hope
total: 215, which is what I need for PA as of this year. Good luck to everyone when their scores come back, and hopefully NM at least remained stationary, if not, dropped a bit for 2006! :)

argh.. it makes me so mad, i was scoring in the high 70s on all three sections on all my practice tests.. not sure what happened :( maybe i was just having an off day

seriously.. how can you guys predict your score?

Well for me...I consistently score between 205-225 on the practice tests.

Then the discussion threads, if you look through them, you can kinda figure out how many you got wrong (so far)...then I'll just factor in the fact that I suck at CR, add a few careless errors for Writing, and look on the scoring curve that's in the grey/blue packet the CB gave you, and figure out.

dude... i omitted 5 in the CR... and I omitted 2 on the writing and none on the math (which i thought was pretty easy). But they CR was f***in hard... i dunno its prolly cause i hate reading stupid passages...

juice, I feel the exact same way... I did almost the exact same things as you did. I feel rather uncertain about writing as a whole... no real feeling toward the good or bad or side of things. I feel confident with CR, but you never can tell with those passages, and I don't remember every sentence completion question. I hope that's not a bad omen, lol.

what score would i get anyways...

well i can predict based on how many i omitted/guessed but probably got wrong/overall feel/6 practice tests, i omitted 1 cr, and i think i got 3 grid ins wrong + quite a few mc, after taking 6 practice tests, it's pretty easy to tell how well i did

i got 231 on the practice test manual (74cr, 77m, 80wr) and im hopin to get somewhere around there. i can see myself missin a max of 4 cr, 2 maybe just from weirdness on wr, dont think i missed any math.

At our school you get your name engraved onto a plaque which hangs over the school entrance for making National Merit, wow I hope I broke 215.

At our school, everyone who gets at least commended has their name announced at senior awards, then is on the graduation....I don't know what you call it, the pamphlet under the awards section.

But it's not that big of a deal...usually around 20% of the students (~250-300)who take the test get some form of the award. Between 15-30 students get at least Semifinalist and 5-10 out of that group get the actual $2500...The rest get the commended status.

Predicted Scores:
Math - 770 to 800 (I might have bubbled something in wrongly)
Verbal - 650 to 680
Writing - 700 to 730
Index - 212 to 221 (Average = 216.5)

CA student... cut off last year was 216.

I like being optimistic :)

At my school, in the senior class of 405, 3 made nsm, and out our district's other school, in a class of about 500-550, 1 made nsm, so it's a pretty big honor here, at a public school
