PSAT Prediction Thread

I know, I was just hoping that my score would be around Merit quality this year, as a sophomore.

couple people in my school got 238 ish

i myself got 181 couldn’t predict lol…no prep~

I predict…
CR - 60-65
WR - 60-63
M - 65-72

This year, I did worse than I expected. I scored 211 out of 240 with a 12 point improvement from my sophomore year; however, I feel so terrible because 5 classmates of around my caliber or lower have all scored from 223 to 235!!! I’m the only one who didn’t fulfill expectations and my PSAT scores from last year were actually better than one of theirs!!!

AND to make it even worse, I actually did have the potential but I mis-bubbled THE ENTIRE 3rd section of Critical Reading by 1 bubble (please don’t criticize me. My parents have done enough of that already, enough to drive me to the brink of absolute shame). Anyway, I could’ve gotten a score around the 700s but I was SO STUPID at the time of the test and only ended up with the following stats:

58 - CR
73 - Math
80 - Writing

Even my sister, who is a freshmen did better than me!!! I FEEL SO HORRIBLE!!!
She got a 226 with the following stats:

71 - CR
80 - Math
75 - Writing

My parents are disappointed, I’m disappointed (mainly because I lost AT LEAST $2,500 in scholarship money), and my sister wishes that she could switch her CR score with mine (that almost made me want to totally break down) but I’m going to move on.

I’m so worried for college! As of now, I have $0 saved for college and I don’t work nor do my parents encourage me to work!!! I’m currently applying for scholarships at Fastweb but I don’t think that will be enough. I’m now working my butt off to maintain my 4.0 gpa and studying as hard as I can for the May SATs, the World History SAT IIs, and the AP Tests! I’m also trying to get my Eagle Scout award, but I don’t think this will be enough!!! I know I may be going over the top, but I’m aiming for an Ivy League College and now I think I seriously dented my chances because my parents won’t pay any more than a fixed amount and those private colleges require so much money to attend!!! I won’t be able to go even if I do get accepted!!! Any suggestions for a junior in distress?!?!?

Prediction: 200
Actual 208 (CR 79 M 65 W 64)
NMS: N/A (sophomore)

I’m pretty indifferent. Have to raise by about 15-20 points for next year.

Cissi- Prediction: 208..same as last year’s
Actual: 235
Do You think you’re an NMS?: Yes
Are You an NMS?: probably..

Prediction: 220
Actual: 231
Do you think you’re an NMS: No, I need to wait another year
Are you an NMS: See above

The unfortunate thing about taking so many practice tests was that by the time I got my actual score (Friday) I was like, “Meh…” and my parents were like, “Meh…” and we’ll all immediately forget about it until September or whenever we get officially notified about NMSF.

prediction: 213
Actual: 222
NMS?: Hopefully

What’s the cutoff for NMS?
If I got 216, is that too low?
I live in Cali.

I got my scores back in December and I got:
60 CR
56 M
60 CR
In total is 176, so a few points lower than expected.
86th percentile.

I got 223. I live in GA so hopefully I’ll make it into NMS

Predicted: 244 (+4 for shaking chuck norris’s hand)
Actual: 230

The cutoff for California for Class of 2008 is 217 and for 219 for 2007.

predicted-225
Actual-223
I am prolly nmsf since i am from OR

Predicted: 210~
Actual: 230~
I think >225 is safe for semifinalist standing across America

~ = I rounded…^^

i went from a 170 in freshman year to a 202 in sophmore both without studying…

maybe if i study for it next year i can get another 32 points

Does anybody know if colleges have access to your PSAT score?

Unless your school prints your score on your transcript, they don’t. They just see NMSF/NMF/NMC/whatever.

Actual – 232
NMS? probably, I’m from KS
