I'm taking a practice PSAT through my school in a couple weeks, through my school. I'm a sophomore, its practice, but should still prep for this one? I REALLY want to be an NMF and I'm not a great test taker (27 ACT), but I'm planning on studying a lot over the summer for the PSAT/SAT and ACT.

Would it be better to get my raw, 1st time, abilities and use them to build off? Or is it better to just start now? I'm guessing I'll get around a 180, and I'll need about a 215 to be NMF in Ohio...

I'd really love to get one of those full rides offered by schools like Alabama and Arizona State.

Thanks

You could take one raw to see where you stand, and then study a lot, or just study a little bit now and take it, and then see where you need to improve. I don’t think one way is any better than the other, except perhaps if you want to see larger “gains” in score.

I really don’t care about how big my gains are, just as long as the final product is good. I’m little towards a minimal amount of study time, or perhaps none, to see where I really need the most help.

Thanks

Ok another question. Do you think it would be a good idea to take the SAT for the first time in June? School will be out for a week, I’ll be studying then, hoping for a decent score, but something to build off for the PSAT and the SAT in the fall.

bump, anyone else?
