How many people prepares for the PSATs??? I have never prepped for PSAT and I think I bombed it (at most 200). Do ppl who get insane scores (210+) do prepping for PSAT, indirectly prepped with SAT, very lucky, or are simply inate test takers?

haha man i appreciate your initiative.
when i took the PSAT for the first time (soph year), i scored horribly (160ish).
however, during the following summer, started prepping for the real SAT.
i scored a 2080 (mediocre) and got a 214 on the PSAT. junior year is the only year in which you qualify for the NMSQT so if you prep for the SAT the summer before, you indirectly prep for the PSAT.

I doubt you bombed the PSAT if you think you got a 200 at most. I mean, just because you didn't score in the NMSF caliber doesn't mean you bombed the test....a 180+ is still a pretty good score IMHO.

By studying for the SAT you basically study for the PSAT indirectly. You can do some light to moderate studying of the PSAT if you really want to aim to be an NMSF.

I just took a practice test the week before. Got a 222 on that (74M, 70CR, 78W). On the real PSAT, I got a 228 (80M, 80CR, 68W)

Wow... thats pretty insane.
