<p>I agree with you. I was responding more specifically to the issue of difficulty. I'd forgotten that S2 took the SAT in 7th grade and thus was familiar with it, but not S1, who was told by his school that it was "just" a practice run for the SAT.
I'm assuming that students who take the SAT at the end of junior year have learned more of the math that will appear on the test since they took the PSAT in October.</p>
<p>My daughter also improved significantly from the PSAT to the SAT, but the range of scores shown on her score report were definitely an accurate prediction of where she ended up on the SATs. </p>
<p>My son just took the PSATs as a sophomore and did quite well. I'm more concerned that his scores will slide on the SAT than go up. With my daughter there was plenty of room for improvement, with him, there's plenty of room for slippage. :)</p>
<p>I'm hoping that my D will increase her score from PSAT to SAT. She had only taken a couple of practice PSAT tests during the week before the exam (no studying), and since then she's been working with a tutor. If she doesn't improve, I'm going to cry over all the money spent!</p>
