PSAT results are in

a gerund is basically something that ends in -ing

Yeah, those sentences are just about reading and sounding right. I need to practice on those "Fill in the blanks with the best pair of words" and then the words are stuff that I have never heard of. I plan to take 5 or so practice ACT tests before I take a real one. I am going to take my two ACTs in March/April.

I got that wrong too! :-(
I wasn't sure if it was "in providing" or "to provide" and then remembered in foreign languages you generally conjugate the first verb and leave the second in its infinitive so I kept the 2nd verb as "to provide." Guess it's wrong...UGHH I WANT MY SCORE!

so whats the curve? anyone knows?

i can't believe there is still no curve

Yeah that's bulls--t.

Thanks writing from dropping me from a 220ish to a 208 once again. *** is so bad about awkward constructions anyways...that's valid!

My school says that they have not recieved the PSAT scores yet. Is that unusual. I really want to see them. I'm expecting lower 220's.

My daughter called me this morning and she got her PSAT: 222. We are in TN. I am wondering if this is good to meet the cutoff. And also does hse need a good SAT score to prove she is good enough?

Thank you in advance for the information.

Well... 212. Yeah, I was hoping for more, but hopefully the SAT I took two saturday's ago(Dec 3rd) will be better.

For those of you trying to construct a curve:

80 Math
690 Writing - 0 omissions - missed 5 questions
630 CR(ouch!) - 1 omissions - missed 7 questions

A 216 was good enough last year for TN. The year before it was 213.

Looks like your daughter made it. Congratulations. I don't know what you need for a SAT score, but I don't think your daughter will have a problem. Out of about 16,000 nmsf, 15,000 become finalists.

hey when guys say cut off, are u talking about NMSC(National Merit Scholarship Corporation)? Because I only got 209 and it says "if there is * mark next to your score, you do not meet the requirement to enter NMSC competitions" and I don't have * next to my score.
I live in NJ and you guys posted like 223 as the cut off score.
???

She refuses to study hard and looks down on standard test. She did some pratice tests for the PSAT but nothing for the SAT that followed the PSAT. To make things worse, she went the school game the night before the SAT test and got home very late. As you can imagin, she was tired at the test day. She told me that for the last few sections she just mark what answer came to her mind since he couldn't barely open her eyes and she wanted the test to be over so she can go gome to take a nap. As a result, she only got a 2090. She refused to take it again since she thinks spend 4 hours of her life suffing there is a waste. Would this 2090 hurt her chance? If she decides to retake, when will be a good time?

Thanks!

I think the * means you don't meet the requirement because you are not a junior or you are an international student. I don't think it has anything to do with your score.

I would retake as soon as possible. Having said this, 2090 is a great score and I think that score will qualify her.

Edit: I see she doesn't want to retake. I don't blame her. In the end, I would leave it up to her.

I tried to reply to your message but couldn't get it to work. Do you think a 2090 is going to hurt her badly? Shall she retake? If so when is a goot time? Her index is:

M77
CR67
W78

She will be taking English AP from Jan-May. Hopefully, the CR can be improved. But I am wrried a June SAT would be too late to reach the NM. What do you think?

Thanks!

I will ask her to take ASAP but will not tell her 2090 is a good enough score :).

This link explains a lot. I would call the number at the end of the link. 847-866-5161.

See if you can get an answer.

If you do, then tell us. :)

She might have a year to retake the SAT.

CR - 80
M - 80
W - 73

For a total of 233. ^_^

Is anyone from WI? Anyone have their scores?

Two wrong on CR for wednesday is a 75.
