PSAT/SAT full practice tests

I have read that it is best to only take full practice tests from the Official SAT Guides since they have their tests made up by the ppl that make up the actual SAT. Should I follow this method and only take my SAT tests from the last several Official SAT guides? Or is it ok to take tests in books like Barron's and Kaplan? I have the same question for the PSAT. Where is the best place to take practice tests there?

Lastly, I wanted to know, besides the practice PSAT test provided by the school , where can I get supplement PSAT and SAT tests? Is there a good source online?

Thanks for the help. I know lately I keep posting questions but now that I have started seriously studying I am filled with questions.

Here you can buy PSAT tests booklets

http://store.collegeboard.com/catalog.do?category=322&categoryName=PSAT/NMSQT%AE

But I don't think they come with the answers, and I don't know where to get the answers.

Here's the answers and explanations for the 2 released PSAT tests from 2006

http://www.collegeboard.com/quickstart/middleschool/

BigB_85..I have the answers for the 2005 one on Wed, but that's only because I took it,but I don't have the original test book. hahaha
So if you need the answers, I can send them to you in a message or something.

A couple questions...so all the PSAT tests for the given day (Wednesday or Saturday) are exactly the same? Like they don't make different versions? Everyone in the country gets the same test?

Same question for SAT's...if you were taking the SAT with 50+ students in a testing room, all the other students would have the same test?

Thank you very much mcmom! If I bought both of the 2006 versions, would they be the same test, just the problems in different order? Or do both of the test have totally different problems?

And akvareli, thanks a ton! But honestly, I don't think I'm going to need them , because I think I'm only going to buy the 2006 PSAT tests (assuming the wed and sat ones are different). If I do buy that though I'll PM you.

No. Saturday is diff. from Wed.

Yeah.. I bought the 2005 and 2006 Sat version today from CB. So i'll see when they come. Hopefully they'll be helpful. lol

^ Awesome. :)

You can use practice tests from other companies, but you can probably find enough from CB that you won't have to or will only have to in small amounts. :)

Got it. CB should last me. But as for the section tests, not the full on tests, in books other than CB, should those be taken? Am I being too critical? Is the difference between the tests so small that it doesnt matter? One of the most respected members here, Xigi, thinks that tests from companies other than CB should not be taken. So does that mean to not take the tests under each section?
