My son is going into 11th grade in the Fall. I understand in October he will be taking the PSAT test. He has taken the free Princeton Review SAT and ACT and scored 650-600-600 and 28 on his ACT.

What are your collective thoughts on SAT prep classes? If so, which one? If not, what do you recommend in the way of preparation?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Most on this forum would recommend self-prep with the College Board Blue Book and perhaps college confidential as a supplement. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/955109-silverturtles-guide-sat-admissions-success.html is pretty good.

Powerscore is the best prep course that I know of. I will be taking the course starting in late August for the October SAT.

I would recommend both the self-prep as well as the actual course, especially if money is not a problem.

test masters is good also

^ Didn’t you just post a thread yesterday asking whether Test Masters is good? :)

OP, I am generally opposed to prep classes.

^Listen to the SAT guru. Read the stickies (xiggi + silverturtle).

Assuming that your son is motivated, he doesn’t need SAT prep classes. Spend that money on the BB + CB online course.

lol haha sliverturtle i surely did(: but alot of people get really good results from there lol and i have some friends that are taking the course
