I know that this is the first PSAT administered under the new format, but I was just curious is everyone had an idea of what a “good score” was for a sophmore.
I received a 1350 on the PSAT out of 1520. Braking it down, I got a 690 or Reading and Writing, and 660 on Math. I’m assuming they were relatively high scores, but I just wanted a better picture as to what exactly my score entails.
That’s a really good score even for a Junior… You will no doubt be competitive next year if you keep up the pace. Good work.
This report looks so much different than the one my d16 got last year. d18 as a sophomore got 1420 with 730 reading and writing and 690 math in Ohio. I do not know how I compare it to previous years…
That’s probably high up in the 90th percentile, so yes that is really good for a sophomore. I think the highest scoring sophomore at my school got 1460 but most were in the 1200-1300 range (I go to an acceptance only school so this is probably above national average)
1350 is a good score but it is below the cut off for NMSF in Michigan. From the current median SAT of around 2160 at UMich last year, the median in new SAT score would be ~1400. So you are not far off.
