We just got out D's PSAT scores back. She got a 206. We live in IL and last years NMSF cutoff was 214. So, my D wants nothing to do with the SAT. Since it looks like she wont make the NMSF does she really need to take it? If for some reason the cutoff drops drastically and she is named a NMSF, will she have time Senior year fall to take it? She has taken the ACT and did great (34) so I am thinking why stress her out and make her take the SAT. For what purpose? She is concentrating on getting her ACT up a point if she can. Her list of colleges so far includes Case, WM, Emory, Tulane.

She has a great ACT score (34 is pretty impressive!) so I wouldn't worry about the SAT unless she really wants to for some reason

And the cutoff probably won't drop that drasitically. maybe a couple of points but not much.
