PSAT Scores Curve

I used the link above to show the actual curve.

Wednesday/Saturday
Critical Reading:
-0= 80/80
-1= 80/80
-2= 78/80
-3= 76/79
-4= 74/77
-5= 72/75
-6= 71/72
-7= 69/71
-8= 68/69
-9= 67/68
-10= 66/67

Math:
-0= 80/80
-1= 76/76
-2= 73/73
-3= 70/70
-4= 68/68
-5= 67/67
-6= 66/66
-7= 65/64
-8= 64/63
-9= 63/62
-10= 61/61

Writing:
-0= 80/80
-1= 78/77
-2= 75/74
-3= 72/72
-4= 71/70
-5= 69/68
-6= 66/66
-7= 65/65
-8= 64/63
-9= 62/62
-10= 61/60

The numbers on the left are the raw points missed (including any points taken off for wrong MC answers).

Wait, if the numbers on the left are raw points....i thought you get -0.25 for each question you get wrong....on that collegeboard conversion chart, it looks like they're going by 1s....

Yeah that guy's post is wrong, he didn't take into account the -.25 points for each question.

But you round the demical...and since there are negative numbers for the raw score on the college board page, it must've taken the deduction for wrong answers into account

that doesnt make sense because i missed 3 for CR on sat anf got a 77

You have to take off 0.25 point for each MC answer that is incorrect. My scale is how many raw points you lose (after rounding the value to the nearest whole number).

For example, if you miss four questions, you have to go to the -5 part of the chart since you lose 4 + (0.25*4) = 5.

AznN3rd--
You missed 3 but you got an additional 0.75 taken off...so you must look at the -4 part, which is indeed 77.

Sorry if I made it confusing.

Wait, why is it that when you miss 4, you lose 4 points? I get the 0.25 * 4 but whats with the 4 points in addition?

The 4 points are the points that you do not get because you missed them.

Each question on the test is worth one raw point and if you miss one, you lose one point from the perfect raw score.

yes it does- 3 wrong would be -3 and then another point subtracted for the .25 taken for "guessing"- giving you a raw 44 and 77 scaled

What would my score be if I skipped 2 and got 4 wrong?

It would be:

-6 [six questions incorrect] - (4*0.25) [MC guessed incorrectly]
= -7

On the Saturday CR scale, you would have gotten a 71.

Do you think 219 in fl will be semi finalist?

that list was wrong.. i tool psat wed and on cr i got 4 wrong and only 71.not 74.. the curve is so harsh..
For writing -4 is 66 not 71
for math -1 ( grid in) would be 75not 76
here’s the new list

I missed two points on the writing section and got a 72 on Saturday.

I missed 4 points on the CR section and got a 71 on Saturday.

So…the Saturday curve seems to be a bit inaccurate…

-1 on CR was 79, not 80 (Wednesday).

Uh, you guys do realize that the list is from last year, and that’s why the curves are different?

-6 on writing and got a 63 ***

-3 writing got me a 69.

ya in terms of writing:
-0 = 80
-1 = 76
-2 = 73
-3 = 69
(Wed)

Got 1 wrong on writing skills, got a 76. Bad curve?
