I hope 221 is enough for CA. In previous years it has been 216-218, but my SAT instructor predicted scores would rise this year and therefore the cutoffs. If I don't make it I'll be so sad...

213, living in China >.< but im a USA citizen, from NV
dunno what the standards are hehe

I got a 129 that was because there was interference in the testing room. 4 phones went off and distracted, and also there was alot of noise from the hallway. I want to retake the test. there was interference.

is it 95th percentile or 96th for the commended scholar?

Upper end of the 96th percentile.

i only got a 201. I did much better than last year though (174) so I'm pretty happy about it. I did pretty good on math, its just the other two parts that killed me. I'm not very good at anything pertaining to english

Good question what clinegirl said. I have been having trouble comming up with a straight answer...

Fireflyscout is right, it's the upper 96th percentile. Bmsa91, that's unfortunate that there were distractions, but you've just got to learn to ignore them and focus hard. Life is hard. Don't let petty distractions ruin a test for you. But still, that sucks and I sympathize with you. Don't let it get you down though =)

About the distractions, I had a bee that was like hovering in front of me, lol. It didn't really bother me too much though.

haha i took my last psat in a biology classroom and there was this giant snake tank next to me. All test the thing kept staring at me and tapping at the glass. Snakes are also my second biggest fear so it was a tad distracting

I got 201... hopefully I'll make the Commended Student cutoff o_O

227 in Virginia.

227 in Virginia is plenty good enough for semifinalist.

hi, I got a 206 on my psat, which I'm pretty sure is commended, but I was wondering what "commended status" gets you, scholarship wise?

Thanks so much!

Unfortunately I don't think commended status warrants any scholarships, just a nifty congratulatory letter that makes you feel good.

213 in MN with no prep. I most likely missed cutoff by 1 or 2 points. I seriously regret not studying or anything..

When do we hear if we qualify for NMSF?

Fall 2009, I think...

202- sophomore, perfect math section.

Need to know the reading stuff better... I'm doing SAT prep this summer and next summer on my own. Maybe that'll help?

My D got a 230 in PA. She's hoping March SAT's reflect something close to that.
