What's the best PSAT book for studying that will help me get national merit? Thanks guys!

I’d say the Princeton review was pretty helpful. Using the blue book and studying for the SAT also helps with the PSAT quite a bit.

You may just use SAT prep books for study and untimed practice (as it has more questions than PSAT). Then get a few PSAT practice test to do timed practice when you are about ready. You don’t need many PSAT practice tests. Just get the PR or any other one for final PSAT practice is enough. Indeed, my D prepared for SAT all over the summer. So she just need to do a couple PSAT practice test with timed right before her junior PSAT.

You don’t need to study for the PSAT. It’s pretty easy to qualify for NMS :)

Last year I studied over the summer with a PR book, and I managed to raise my score from 189 to 221, granted I prepped for a few solid months. If you’re willing to put the effort in, anything is possible.
