Hi everyone!
I know it summer at the moment, but I was just wondering if you think it would help me to start studying for the PSATs. I know the early the better, however I am going into 10th grade and I think I will end up taking the exam in 11th (same time as i plan on taking the SATs) On the other hand I want to do VERY well on the exam, so I was wondering if I should start early or not
And as a side not, for the people who ended up doing exceptionally well, what books/ studying techniques do you suggest? I know there are books for it but, as I said, I aim to do very well so I want all and the best ideas you have to offer Thanks!
Since you have to take the new format… I would say yes, start studying as early as possible that being said, however, there probably (?) aren’t new study books out yet reliably reflecting the new test, so just know that you might even if you study now you’re probably gonna end up re-studying. (For example, the major test prep companies don’t do a good job at all of covering new AP formats.) In my experience, that sucks because companies like The Princeton Review reuse the same stuff with just different time limits or whatever. So you’ll likely remember the questions and answers, which might affect your practice score vs the real thing where you haven’t seen any of the material before.
Also remember that your scores aren’t ALL that matter. Study for your classes, APs, etc. first, since you have so much time. And if you’re a procrastinator, you won’t end up studying for the PSAT/SAT at all this year anyway
