PSAT Substitution?

So a little background first. I took the PSAT back in October and got a 214. I was sort of disappointed because last year, the cutoff in Texas (my home state) was 215. Now I have been told that the cutoff might've decrease, but I was still sort of bummed since I had done on the practice tests. Fast forward to last Friday, I heard that if you missed the PSAT, you could substitute your SAT score for your PSAT score. I got a 2250 on the SAT, converted to a 225 on the PSAT, and I thought this fitted me just right. When I got home, I found the exact program they were referring to.

"A student who does not take the PSAT/NMSQT because of illness, an emergency, or other extenuating circumstance, but meets all other requirements for NMSC program participation, may still be able to enter the competitions. The student or a school official must write to NMSC as soon as possible after the PSAT/NMSQT administration to request information about procedures for entry to NMSC competitions by alternate testing. The earlier NMSC receives the written request, the greater the student's opportunities for meeting alternate entry requirements. To be considered, a request must be postmarked no later than March 1 following the PSAT/NMSQT administration that was missed. NMSC will provide alternate entry materials including an entry form that requires the signature of a school official."

I'm not sure exactly how it works, since some of the details she mentioned weren't in there (using the SAT for my PSAT score, etc.). Has anyone done this program, could you explain it, and could I do it even though I didn't miss the PSAT?

nope sorry buddy it's only if you miss the psat that you can do that.

It could always go down, I live in texas as well (got a 225 coincidentally)
