I'm taking the PSAT tommarow- can you guys gimme some tips to improve my concentration... cause i always make careless math mistakes in the morning. Here's what I plan to do- get a good night sleep tonight, wake up 2 hr before the test and eat breakfast, take a jog to get blood flowing to my head and suck on some mints while taking the test. Any other suggestions? thanks

first you'll want to know how to spell "tomorrow"

Next...it's too late for you to really do anything...you should have started taking practice tests weeks ago, checking for your careless mistakes, and concentrating on not making them. In the last 16 hours there isn't much you can do. Maybe do some last minute studying of the math concepts...other than that, nothing.

yeah jyankees! way to be positive man. that's what this forum is for: discouraging people.

i would suggest that after you eat breakfast, read a good newspaper article. find the hardest two vocab words in the article and substitute a different word in that would not change the context of the sentence. then ask yourself why the author wrote the article. to argue a point? contradict an opinion? etc. if you have extra time in math sections, take the questions you were unsure of and start them over, without looking at your previous work. good luck...i'm sure you'll do great.

Take a cold shower.

I've never done this, but it sounds like a good theory, right?

go to bed right now. Seriously, getting the proper amount of sleep will make you more alert. That alone can help raise your score. :D

I agree: by this point, if you're on a forum about tips for the PSAT...it's too late. It isn't being pessimistic, it is being realistic.

0 review things that you are shaky about. LIke, technique, or a specific type of math problme.

0 go to bed early

0 eat a good breakfast. I had toast, eggs, and hotcocoa.

0 do something un-PSAT related. I did my physics homework. I don't know if that will work, but it worked for me! I concentrated very, very well after doing practice tests with no concentrating and getting 580s because of it (i could certainly get higher, no question).
