PSAT TOMORROW.... Who's nervous?!?!

Ahhh im freaking out for the psat tomorrow. im hoping itll go well and all but im still really nervous for tomorrow.

any advice?

Don’t worry.

Take a deep breath, look over some vocab and do the best you can! So you don’t have school tomorrow?

I’m taking it on Saturday.

I’m freaking out too. I know i’ll get a good score but I don’t know if it will meet the cut-off score for National Merit.

I’m really scared too. My state has a pretty high cut-off score for NMSF. I think the only thing that’s probably gonna stop me from getting a high score is Sentence Completion, which is why I’m going to study a ton of vocab today and hope for the best tomorrow.

Oh, I forgot to add that I have the Direct Hits books SOMEWHERE in my house and I can’t find them. This sucks. :/

Why is everyone freaking out over the PSAT? The only purpose it serves is a merit scholarship if you’re lucky, and it’s probably nice if you want to apply to summer programs (but you can submit an SAT or ACT).

I’m taking it tomorrow too, i don’t think it’s too big of a deal though.

Well mainly because of the National Merit Scholarship. The colleges I am looking at give out pretty generous scholarships to National Merit Scholars, since I’m not looking at really elite schools like Harvard or anything.

Oh ok, then that makes sense. Hopefully we both do well!

I’m more nervous about this test than for any other test I’ve ever taken or will ever take; I have $32,000 riding on this test.

I’m pretty nervous, hoping that the hard sentence completions won’t have too outlandish of words. I’ve been consistently scoring around my state’s cutoff score for this year, I just have to remember to read all the questions!!

This test is really worth nothing for me. All the Ivies disregard the PSAT for scholarship money and the only school that I’ll be applying to which gives only about $1500 for the PSAT thing is NYU.

Not worried at all. Its just gonna be a good experience before the Real SAT.

I’ll be highly dissapointed in myself if I fail to pass the threshold qualifying one for the $32,000 scholarships that my parent’s workplace gives to students. If it weren’t for that incentive, I don’t think the $2000 prize and application footnote would be sufficient cause to get me this nervous.

I’m sooo nervous! Not taking it until Saturday, but I’m still thinking about it all the time now. I’m fairly sure I won’t make National Merit (darn you, Massachusetts) but I still would really like to do well. The math section is killing me though!

I would be nervous lol, but I’m more concerned about my cumulative AP Biology test (I still have to cram 6 chapters into my head). Thankfully, the PSAT doesn’t count for me as a sophomore, but I still want to do well!

Silverturtle, your parents work for the national merit corporation?

GOODDD, i need this scholarship . My dream school is Yale but my stat’s, i think, won’t be sufficient; i need the money to go to another college for a relatively low cost.

IMMMMM NERRRRVVVOUSSS ASSS HELLL.

IDK what to do so im rereviewing the CB book of 10 practice tests only for the writing section though. Im almost done…

Fresh101, Yale, like all the Ivy schools does not give any scholarship for the PSAT. A good score can help you get that commendation award, but its not really that appealing to the admission officers.

@Silverturtle Wow man $32,000!!! I would be nervous as hell if I had money like that riding on this one test.

I know that Yale does not give any scholarship for the PSAT but im saying that if i don’t get in, i would like the scholarship money to go to another university, such as NYU.

HAHA, i practically passed out during my psat and as a result got really low scores (but for my sat I did much better, because I actually tried)

you guys are too young to worry about psat. the scholarships are a lot harder to get than scholarships from the real SATs. just live your livesssss

“Silverturtle, your parents work for the national merit corporation?”

Nope.
