PSAT Wednesday CR Discussion

Gawd, I'm nervous

same…
anyone have good vocab review? last minute key points? advice?

The CR score curve is pretty nice. -1=80, -6=70
Math and writing is bleh

Advice - Use POE (process of elimination.) Don’t you dare omit an answer.

^I agree. If you’re aiming for a high score, then omitting an answer won’t help, especially since the curve on the PSAT is really stringent.

Two methods that really help cut down on stupid/careless mistakes:

-(This is most helpful for math) When you get an answer, make sure to look back at the question and ask yourself if your answer a) makes sense and b) is answering the question (e.g. if the question is asking for hours, make sure you don’t give minutes!)

-SLEEP

I can’t wait.

Lol I can’t wait… to sleep in!!! SENIORS!!!1!!!11!! :p

As a sophomore last year, I omitted 2 or 3 answers even though I only had 2 choices left; looking back, it was a pretty dumb decision. Still, that test didn’t count for anything except for minor bragging rights at school, so I’m OK.

does direct hits help?

yes and no. It helps with POE generally. Honestly, if you’ve read good books for the past life, you should be fine.

when does the embargo lift? can’t we talk about it now since all americans take it today… and all nonamericans either have different test don’t take it?

YES I believe the embargo has been lifted

SC:

Placid
Sleep
Answer with buttressed?
Apocryphal
Foreboding… Elation

What else? All agree so far?

I hope it was not buttressed…

Passage"

Lawyer’s tone = affronted
“very understandable” = sympathetic

What else? Agree?

I got placid, apocryphal and foreboding/elation. I don’t remember the sleep question at all, and I don’t think I got buttressed as an answer.

It wasn’t buttressed lmao

I put impartial, not sympathetic, but I got affronted, buttressed, apocryphal, placid, and foreboding elation.

Sleep was the first question SC lol
