What do you guys think the curve/scale on the PSAT Form W Wednesday 2009 will be like?

Just post your predictions...

Math: CR: W:
-1: 76 80 78
-2: 72 78 74
-3: 70 74 70
-4: 68 70 69
-5: 65 68 66

raiderade: That seems BRUTAL. I think the curve on the practice booklet for this year was quite harsh and the practice booklet itself was pretty easy.

Here’s what I think:

CR was slightly more tricky than usual but the passages and questions/answers seemed more straighforward in terms of content (no strange literature passages…). So far, I don’t think I missed any.

Math Sec 2 destroyed me. Section 4 was better. Probably missed 3-5.

Writing was decent. All of the sentence correction ones were fairly straightforward and so were the passage fixing questions. Some of the find the error questions were super tricky. I think I missed 1-3?

Ugh, I need a 215, so this is really distressing.

Probably gonna be a tough curve on math, it was really easy (in my opinion). Reading on the other hand… Vocab was way tougher than what was in the practice, passages also felt slightly harder, so hopefully there’s a generous curve on cr

I thought Math was about average in difficulty; the curve should reflect this.

Writing was average as well.

Critical Reading should have a generous curve.

I think I missed two math questions…how much do you think that will cost me?

I think I missed two math, two or three CR and one Writing…do you think that will be good enough for national merit cutoff in South Carolina (210)?

Two math ~ 74
Three CR ~ 75
One writing ~ 78

(74 - (2 x .25) ) + (75 - (3 x .25) ) + (78 - (1 x .25) ) = ~225.5

I’m pretty sure you made the cut off…lol
