So, I was just wondering how everyone did on today's PSAT??

I'm not sure. Some were a little tough, a lot of question were easy. I do know that I nearly had a panic attack because during the second math section my proctor accidentally told us to put down our pencils ten minutes early and i still had a bunch left to do, but then she realized she was wrong and was just like "um, nevermind just keep working you have 10 minutes"
HA

MODERATOR NOTE:

There is to be no discussion of the content of the PSAT tests, until well after the tests are over, and even then discussion of multiple choice questions is off-limits.

General comments like "It was hard" or "I did well on the math section" are OK but no specifics about the questions. There are timezones where the test hasn't even started yet and some schools don't give it until the weekend.

oops. sorry!

the Wednesday and Saturday testings dates have completely different exams, but the Wed. exams in Hawaii and Alaska haven't started so hush-hush!

man if those alaskans know people here they can call them and get questions. i wish i were in alaska (plus the NMS score is lower...:( )

The west coast is finished. At least I am.

I thought the second math section had some pretty hard ones, the first one was ok though. Writing seemed easy, but I'm not usually too good at writing, so I probably missed a lot (like 5-7). CR was ok. There were a few I just had no idea on.

the last one for the math was confusing. the free response one

I didn't get it either.

what was it

Math and CR were mad easy, I totally pwned both. Writing was ho-hum. But I'm only a soph. so no NMSF...

Wow. I thought it was going to be hard, but I mean to tell you the truth, I thought it was really easy compared to last years. Math especially. The last one I'm pretty sure I got right, but then again, I might just be thinking that. I could explain it when we can discuss the PSATs..but man the CR was easy though I don't think I got an 80 on either CR or WR , but I thought they were easy. Some of the WR were a bit confusing, but over all.. easy.
Funny thing. I was going through a vocab list last night and two of the words which were the ANSWERS were on it! crazy stuff.

when are we allowed to discuss the problems?

The last two questions on the first math section were uber hard.

And the second CR section was a bit tough.

gaaaaaaaahhhhh, I don't think I'll get NMSF.

I think I did well overall. Probably around a 210 hopefully. Some of the CR stumped me though. The MC math was really easy but a couple of the open responses were hard. Writing is a breeze.

The first math section was easy, except for the last two. Second math section was a little harder that the first. The writing didn't seem any harder or different than previous years. Critical reading... Eh. I'm not at all sure on how I did on that part.

I think I did.. well okay.. I thought the math was really easy.. (I don't remember the last one.. I think I got it, if someone wants to PM me or whatever I can say I'm sure)
The writing I thought was alright, better than last year, but it's usually my worst..
I actually thought the First Critical Reading was hard, but that's just me I'm sure.

So I hope I did better, but I don't think I got anywhere close to NMSF

What's the minimum to be the national merit thing? Not a finalist, just to be selected or however it works.

I did absolutely horrible last year just because I didn't care or study or try on the test. haha, i got like a 140. I wonder how much it'll improve

Last year the minimum to be commended was 200.

I did the same as Fury, I sophomore year I didn't care at all, i got a 145. This year I feel like I couldn't have gotten below a 200. Once you know it counts to a certain extent, you just want to try.
