^Too bad the Saturday test will be completely different from the Wednesday test. lol

does anyone know the cut off for maryland? sigh. this is probably the most competitvive state =(

what scores do you get in reading and writing if you get ~6 wrong each?

The cutoff in MD will probably be something in the low 220's. MD is one of the most competitive states.

anyone know what it will be in PA?

Probably around 215, which is what it was in 2005.
Last year, though, I know someone who got a 214 for NMS.
For Commended it's probably 203-204 again.
(This is for PA)

6 wrong in writing will kill your score, but 6 wrong in cr might net you a high 60's

thanks that is encouraging =( I was/am/will never be good at those eng selections wahahah....

how about commend in Maryland? -sigh-

can we discuss now?

my memory is hazy but im dying to know! ... there was one about a ... cube. (I hope that doesnt break any rules)

me toooo.
i wanna know about the cube one too...

I remember the cube one. I omitted it, but after the test I had an epiphany.

It was actually very easy. Dunno why I couldn't figure it out while taking the test. I'm so mad at myself over that question.

i think most people could answer every question on the sat/psat given enough time. there's nothing really hard about the math (at all). you're just under pressure to finish it, and it takes a bit to figure some of them out.

It's really annoying, I usually figure out 3-5 answers I could've gotten after I finish the test

was the answer to one of the fill ins brianchild or innovation

When can we get our test booklets back? I know 2 years ago my sister got it back a week after the test from our counselor, but this year we have a new counselor and he thought we couldn't see the booklet until December also... What do your counselors do?

What is the PSAT schedule like - do you get any breaks?

sigh... dont you guys hate when that happens? when its a really easy question and you miss it, then afterwards your like ***?!?!?! there was one about math it was the second to last in the gridins. it was like is x squared equals 25 y squared equals 16 and z squared equals 9 what is (x+y-z)^2?
and i put 36 but the answer is 144 since z could also equal -2, sigh.. well at least i didn;t get penalized because it was a grid in. And i skipped one multiple choice and missed another grid in. So in reality it was like skipping 3 in math. that would give me minus 3 points which convert to a 72 right?

darn. I might have put 12 for that one, but cannot remember clearly right now!

Oh man, I also put 36 for that question. So now that's 3 omitted on math. And I probably missed another question or two.

I'll probably get mid 60's in math. ugh

lol looks like im not the only one, i hate the feeling of missing something i shouldve gotten :(

it's probably not a good idea to discuss specifics until monday.
the test seemed so much easier than last year.. i made one dumb mistake but overall it seemed ridiculously easy. i guessed on 2 or 3 of the cr ones but i had them narrowed down to 2. hopefully i make national merit (made the cutoff last year for maine but the whole age thing screwed me over).. hopefully the scale this year isn't harsh :[ last year the writing curve was brutal.
the writing was so easy though.. there weren't a lot of tricky ones, like "fewer/less" and "farther/further", etc.

^ haha. Yeah I thought the writing was too easy to be true, as in I didn't find any of them to be too deeply confusing, but then It might be my just thinking that it was simple while in reality it really wasn't. lol
