it's probably not a good idea to discuss specifics until monday.

Why Monday in particular? I think it's fine by now really.

Why Monday in particular? I think it's fine by now really.

^ Well, it should be fine by now, but Monday because kids are taking another PSAT on Saturday. Thought the one on Saturday is completely different.

So how did the test compare to the practice PSAT the college board gave? I felt like the practice was way too easy...

i know! i got a 740 on the practice math, only two wrong both fill ins. on the REAL one, i omitted two and got at least two fillins wrong. lol.

about that math problem, how the hell do you solve it? It has an ambiguous answer.

What math problem? None of them were really ambiguous, I thought. That contradicts mathematics. lol

Are you talking about the one with the quadratic expressions?

On the Wed PSAT, is there a chance I got a 208 if I missed about 4 in reading, 1 grid-in and 3 regular in math, and 3 in writing?

can someone post how they did that math cube question?
its seriously bugging me cuz no one in our school understood it (all the sophomores had to take it).

The shortest distance from one point in the middle of a side of the cube to another point in the middle of the opposite side of the cube is 2sqrt2. If you visualize it you would see that it (the distance) amounts to two sides of the cube because it goes one full distance around one side and half the distance of a side two times. Thus you divide 2sqrt2 by 2 to get one side. That would give you sqrt2 for one side.

Then to find the volume, you multiply sqrt2 by sqrt2 by sqrt2, which gives you sqrt8.

sqrt8 equals 2sqrt2.

2sqrt2 is the correct answer.

i took a practice test and thought the cr was really hard, but then for some reason this years cr was ridiculously easy. Math had no difficult word problems, and writing i felt was the same as always. I'm thinking the averages for semi will be higher this year.

Do you think the curve this year will be about the same as last year's? If not what section do you think will have a higher or lower curve?
Wednesday 2006 curve...
CR.... Math. Writing
48/80 38/80 39/80
47/80 37/76 38/78
46/78 36/73 37/75
45/76 35/70 36/72
44/74 34/68 35/71
43/72 33/67 34/69
42/71 32/66 33/66
41/69 31/65 32/65

(Raw score/Scaled score)

That curve looks just about right for this years too, especially for math. Maybe a little less generous for CR, but overall I wouldn't be surprised if it looked about the same.

hey what did u guys get for this sentence error question

"The men, angry about the bill, clamored around the building to prevent
its being passed.

"its" was underlined. "being passed" was underlined. I don't remember the other ones, but i kno they were not right anyway.

i put "being passed" was incorrect. This was choice D

what did u guys put?

Wasn't the sentence "The opponents of the bill were few but influential enough to prevent its being passed in the House." ??

Anyway i put "its" because i thought it should be changed to "it from" but i think "being passed" was wrong now.... :(

yea thats the right sentence. my bad i couldn't remember. I thought it was D too. But one of my friends said the answer was E, because "being passed" is a gerund. So now I am having doubts

Which passage did you all think was hardest: animal sounds, civil rights (about preacher), or Arabella?

I put C for that one about the bill, and does anyone know if the one before that about the english music or w.e was No Error

I just put "its" because it was in the possessive case, but I'm not sure. I could ask my english teacher on monday.

Tennisfan.. I put no error on the one about the music that inspired somebody else, i think it was before the bill question

do u guys remember more specifically what the music question was? I don't remember that one
