I am in 10th grade now and I am planning to take PSAT this October. I am scoring in the range of 195-210. I do not want to jeopardize my chances to get the National Merit Scholarship. Is there any limit to taking PSAT?

You can take it once a year.

It counts for NOTHING in 10th grade. You cannot qualify for NMS, PERIOD.

The only time it "counts" is in junior year. You get a good enough score to make the cutoff, then become a SF, then write essays and become a finalist, then finally a scholar.

You get one shot at it junior year. That's it.

Thanks much.
