PSAT without Alg 2?

So I'll be a Sophomore and I'll be taking (albeit the practice) PSAT. I would really like to do well but I haven't taken Algebra 2 and will not do so until second semester. Is it possible to score well and should I guess or not guess on Alg 2/Trig questions?

The PSAT doesn't include algebra 2.

Are you serious? What does it include?

From the PSAT site: Numbers and Operation, Algebra and Functions, Geometry and Measurement, Data Analysis, Statistics and Probability

Oh wow. Thanks!

Everyone said the PSAT is exactly the same as the SAT minus the essay so I assumed Algebra 2 would be included.

In general though, what's the better strategy- to make an educated guess or leave blank?

No, only the SAT I has algebra II, and even that is a very recent addition.

if you don't already get really high scores, then ALWAYS guess.

if you typically miss around 4 or less questions in CR, Math, or Writing, then it really depends on how you feel. For example, this is an extreme example, but if I am confident that I got all the other questions in CR right, I might omit one that I have absolutely no idea on, as it is more likely than not that I will get it wrong. While it's obviously true that the guessing will even out in the end, the chances are low on just one question. When it gets down to people with near 80s on each section, then it really is pretty subjective: Do you feel optimistic? how confident are you that your eliminated choices are right? etc.
