<p>The correct answer is A, but I don't understand why D is incorrect. Could someone help me? THANK YOU.</p>

<p>I think its a clarity/ambiguity issue. With D, ask yourself, ‘‘What does ‘‘is’’ refer to? Hearing, or sight?’’. It CAN refer to hearing, but you can’t be sure. Choice A makes it clear that ‘‘is’’ refers to hearing.</p>
