PSAT scores just came out. Last year as a sophomore i got a 1160, and this year as a junior i got a 1250. This is out of 1520 as the PSATs are. I see these as horrible scores and am shooting for a 1550 or over on the actual SAT. I have not done any test prep at all for the SAT which i take in March. Any recommendations for getting a score like that or higher. Thanks.
The best way to prepare is to take sample tests, analyze the questions you get wrong, and study up in those areas.
That will also help you to set your expectations on scoring. 1550 is an exceptional score and, while everyone wants/shoots for a score in that range, only half of a percent of students score that high.
From what I’ve seen, PSAT scores in this range typically predict SAT scores about 100 points higher.
Khan Academy practice tests are good for test prep. Their answer keys are online, so you can check what you got wrong at the end. Or, you can try doing the old SAT’s grammar section.
