Okay, i just got my PSAT scores back and i did "better than 99 percent of all sophomores..." the things is, they say you can just add a zero to your PSAT scores for a pretty accurate estimate of what you'll get on your SAT. but i got a 68 on the PSAT, which translates to a 680, which isnt that good!
but if i did better than 99% of sophomores, shouldnt it be AT LEAST in the mid 700s????
this is really discouraging, please explain...

The expectations are lower for sophomores. There is usually an increase, sometimes significant, in scores as a junior.

I don't think you're adding up all three scores.

sorry, i should have been more clear...this was on the Writing section of the PSAT...but 99 percentile should be higher than a 680 (for that section), or am i missing something??

bump

BDoyle, did you look at the link? Makes sense to me. A 68 puts you in the 99th percentile as a sophomore but the 96th as a junior. You scores should go up as you get older. Enjoy that 99th percentile! When you take the SAT as a junior or senior, chances are that your score will increase.
