Psat

how do I prepare for this?
And what is the best score you can get?
How hard is it?
How many days, months should I start preparring before to be national merit scholar?
What is the national merit thingy magigy?
Can someone please help me and answer these questions for my sake?
PLZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):):):)

1) Study guides for either the PSAT/SAT are great for prep.
2) The highest you can get is 240 (add a 0 to get an SAT “equivalent” for example a 201 PSAT = 2010 SAT).
3) About as difficult as the SAT, but less intense because it is shorter and there is no essay. The questions range in difficulty to very simple to challenging; take a look at a practice test to get an idea.
4) This one depends on you. How good of a test taker are you in the first place? Take a diagnostic exam now, and if you really want National Merit start practicing right away to bridge any gap.
5) National Merit is a distinction awarded to a select group of students who perform well on the PSAT. In every state there is a slightly different score cutoff for semifinalists, usually around 215 or so. These people are notified and must submit transcripts, extracurriculars, a letter of recommendation and an essay to be judged. Some finalists receive scholarships, and you can put that you were a National Merit Scholar on a college application as well. Also, if you make a qualifying score you will be bombarded with college mail, and some will even offer partial/full rides.

thank you for the info
