Are the PSATs that accurate? Can some of you guys that took both SATs and PSATs tell both scores? I did a lot worse then I thought I would do on the PSATs and I am worried about doing bad on the real thing(SATs).

Thanks.

I'd like to know this too, I got a 195 on PSAT, but 33 on ACT. This does not match, it predicts around a 28 on the ACT.

I'm hoping for similar results to yours Greenbay, I would love a 500+ increase.

225 psat
2360 sat

It is possible to estimate from a student's PSAT/NMSQT score, an SAT score range that a student may expect to fall within, and this range is included on the score report and in the table Estimating Junior-Year SAT Scores. Two times out of three, juniors will earn SAT scores within the SAT ranges printed on the PSAT/NMSQT Score Report Plus. But scores actually earned may be higher (or lower) than these estimates. Students who wish to improve their estimated performance on the SAT may wish to:

* Develop skills through rigorous academic courses
* Participate in problem-solving activities
* Read extensively outside school
* Use the score report and test book to analyze test questions, responses, and strategie
* Become familiar with test directions, types of questions, and pacing.

Juniors frequently take the SAT six or seven months after taking the PSAT/NMSQT. Sophomores will not take the SAT for 18 months, so there may be a greater likelihood that these intervening activities will influence sophomores' SAT scores. Estimating Junior-Year SAT Scores shows how scores change for students who take the PSAT/NMSQT in October and the SAT reasoning test the following spring.
Note: The SAT I Verbal Section score ranges are comparable to the new SAT critical reading section; the SAT Subject Test in Writing is comparable to the new SAT writing section.

Junior PSAT: 203

Junior SAT: 1970
Senior SAT:1990

I think psat is a good indicator of SAT Score (as long as one doesn't prep real hard! lol!)

My Junior PSAT was the same (well, tack on a 0) as my Junior SAT (although I prepped signficantly between talking the PSAT and the SAT, it doesn't seem to have helped.)

PSAT-225
SAT-2200 (worse)
SAT 2300 (better)

so in the end i did better without prep. idk i think most of it is just luck...whether or not you are focusing and your brain is clicking that day. haha

PSAT-203
SAT-2130

Just prep a little bit more for the SAT's and you'll be fine. I didn't prep too much for the PSAT's but prepped more for the SAT's.
