Psi U

Place all information on most recent Psi U happenings here.

What I've heard is that they were kicked off campus and everyone has to move out of the house by the fall because the alumni A. deactivated them because they found out about their hazing or B. deactivated them because they found out about drugs. Not sure if it's A or B. I'll find out from an actual Psi U friend soon.

Anyone?

drugs + a problem with actives giving a sh&t about their house

Wait so they are out permanently out?

[Alumni Board Deactivates Current Members of Psi Upsilon Fraternity | The Cornell Daily Sun](http://cornellsun.com/section/news/content/2008/07/06/alumni-board-deactivates-current-members-psi-upsilon-fraternity)

not about drugs at all, not kicked out by cornell, and not permanent.

thanks for the link

Okay good find, no there is no more speculation.

That’s an interesting situation…

So its the opposite of Sigma Pi? Cornell still recognizes Psi U but their nationals doesn’t and then Cornell doesn’t recognize Sig Pi but their nationals still does… Anybody know what/why the difference?

Sigma Pi was put on probation by the administration/ifc. Cornell will not recognize them for one year until 2009. Once this time is up they will be a fully recognized chapter. They are still recognized by their alumni currently who are trying to rebuild the house so it can be successful when 2009 comes.

Psi U on the other hand can be reinstated WHENEVER their alumni see fit. It could be tomorrow. Once the alumni see fit then they can act like a full chapter on campus.

by alumni are we talking about former members or all greek alumni?

former alumni of psi u (i.e. anyone who was in psi u at cornell and graduated before 2008)
