<p>Has anybody else found this essay prompt kind of weird.</p>
<p>"Submit a statement of purpose indicating why you are a deserving applicant of the award."</p>
<p>Are we supposed to type of an essay bragging about our accomplishments or what? If so, that sucks. I don't want to talk about my "accomplishments." I'm rather modest. I don't want to be like "O well you shhould give me the award because i did blah."</p>
<p>What have you guys written about?</p>
<p>I felt bad writing mine, b/c I felt that it was too "I'm the best applicant forthis," which isn't a very fun thing to do...but they want you to brag about yourself I guess. The deadline is the 15th, so you better get to work on it! =P</p>

<p>Well, inasmuch as it would be nice to be consistent with your personality, now is not the time to be shy. You need to advertise and flaunt yourself. Enjoy the opportunity while you have it because like you suspect, this isn't a normal thing in the course of one's life.</p>
<p>Anyways, go and do the essay. You are lucky you are getting an opportunity like this... (not that you're not deserving but rather that 99.999% people on this planet don't even have access to an education like you do.)</p>
