So, I thought as we have our interviews for the PSP competition, we could post about how they went and any advice we might have for the others. Locations, questions, etc. Or just a place to bond together over nervousness. :)

Personally, I haven't scheduled my interview yet; haven't heard from interviewee. (I figured I'd wait a few more days before I start pestering the admissions office.) What about you guys? Have you set up your interviews yet?

Most alumni associations pre-arrange the interview day and time. You go to a certain place at a certain time, and they have rooms where the interviews take place, sometimes just one alum will conduct the interview, sometimes it is two. In addition, they’ll usually have a waiting room where the parents stay, and either current students or recent alumni in the waiting room to talk-up the college to the parents and the waiting students.

Good luck.

Thanks! I wonder how many people are in each region?

It varies. The experience also varies by the alumni group.

Smaller, more rural areas will have fewer interviews and the interviews are more likely to be at someone’s house (they just don’t have the means or need to secure an interview location, and since they tend to cover large geographical areas, it makes no sense for candidates to drive far if there is an alum in their town). Larger alumni groups tend to conduct interviews as described above.
