PSU Accelerated Med Program

How many of you have already sent your applications for this program?

Is it impossible to get in with a 1480 SAT?

Are you guys sending in "proof" or documentation of your volunteer work?

Does anyone know about the selection process, like how important the interview is or what stats we need to at least secure an interview?

Has anyone ever gotten in with a below 1500 SAT score?

Any other advice cuz I'm gonna have to send my overnight on Monday. Too much procrastination!

I'm sending mine in...all that's left is my essay

all my stuff is in. oh, and it's ranked no. 3 in the nation, as far as combined programs go....soo.....yea, cutthroat is the one word to describe the admissions process to this program--lol.

question, tho: there isn't any supplemental stuff on, like, why medicine? or anything like that, eh? i know there's the optional essay on the undergrad. app and the teacher rec....is that all?

teacher rec?? i didn't see anything for teacher rec on there...

ohhh teacher rec/guidance rec
scared me for a second

I just submitted my app...but when I tried to check my application, it says that there's nothing there yet (even though I had guidance send my stuff out many weeks ago)...

yo i got into penn state undergrad already

im applying with a 1460 SAT

street: same thing with me. I havent heard anything and other people appyling regular have already been accepted.

same boat.. no word about regular PSU or the med program... a friend of mine said she called them to check on her application status, and they told her that once they're done reviewing the premed-med accelerated app, they would let her know if she's into PSU regular... so us accelerated med applicants have to wait longer to see if we get into PSU regular... or so that's what i understood from her

and btw, she withdrew her app from the accelerated program so that she could apply to PSU honors, b/c apparently they don't let you apply to honors and the accelerated med program

Is there a separate app for premed-med??

no there isn't- i just mailed mine off at the last second. The thing that surprises me however, is that they base admissions into the program basically on your transcript, SAT, and interview

Hm, I didn't contact Penn St for an interview...or will they contact me?

Yes, they contact you. My brother got into the program, and he agrees that numbers are pretty heavy.

i mixed up one word on my personal statement. I put "came" instead of "come". we'll see what happens

hahaha collegefreak...wow.....chill man.
