School Type: Large Upper-Class Public, I have 5 friends going to Ivies/MIT/Stanford

<p>Other Factors: Eagle Scout, 3 yr varsity football, lots of community service, help run a program for mentally handicapped kids at my church
General Comments: I’m trying not to lose hope. I know PNGE is pretty competitive but I selected summer session so maybe that will help me. I had a friend get into CS last year on Jan 20th so it isn’t too late to get an acceptance. I got into another school with a good PNGE program as well as that school’s honors college with a $70k scholarship but PSU is still my first choice.</p>

<p>ok, to calm some people down a bit…
There have been internal discussions regarding concerns about ending up with too large of a freshman class. There have been years where the yield was unexpectedly high and this led to numerous logistical problems as previous freshman classes exceeded capacity.
Now this part is my interpretation of why many qualified applicants are still waiting: since they experienced a significant increase in the number of applications they may be making more decisions later to try to get closer to their target. They just may have scaled back the number of early decisions so more people are waiting than previous years. I wonder if the new provost has a different philosophy about admissions than Rod Erickson did when he held the post.
So, I can’t say all those waiting will get in. However, don’t get too anxious just yet.

<p>It’s just a matter of luck when they decide to make a final review of your application. </p>

<p>If you want to know if you qualified for priority, just give them a call.</p>

<p>A simple last name/first name/birthday and they’ll tell you. </p>

<p>I found out I’m qualified for it so i’m still waiting.</p>

<p>Alright, so I was accepted into Computer Engineering but I have to do the 2 + 2 program from Erie. Does that mean accepted by the thread’s terms?</p>

I have some bad experience with the admission officers in penn state. well…Everything is possible, but at least they will let you in!</p>

<p>I went back and looked at class 2017.</p>

<p>It appears that the Thursday before MLK were when some saw the status change to “in the coming days.” So, maybe today! And that they were able to see if they accepted or not on Saturday night after 12-12:15am (technically Sunday) and others Sunday night 12-12:15am(Technically Monday).</p>

<p>Sorry for littering the thread with my posts but somebody messaged me about my stats/when I had all of my info in by and I can’t respond because I don’t have enough posts to PM people.</p>

<p>My info is on the previous page and I had all of my credentials in by the 26th of the month admissions opened.</p>

<p>On my Status page it says ‘We are in the final stages of review and an admissions decision will be posted here in the coming days.’ but it show a picture of Altoona. It also lists Altoona addresses and whatnot.</p>
