I’m beyond excited to be a Nittany Lion. WE ARE!

i got accepted to but for summer cuz i wanna be a LEAPer

WE ARE… PENN STATE!!!

Good for you Blobhead!

@tallerthanyou - then my best guess for you is that you will be accepted to UP. My friend applied with no alternate or summer option, his picture stayed at UP, and he was denied and the picture didn’t change till after the official decision was posted. Since you had an alternate and you are still on UP, you most likely are going to get into fall. This is based on my knowledge of others who have/haven’t gotten in.

Also, in general if you put an alternate starting campus and your picture stays on UP, you usually get into UP, because the picture didn’t change to your alternate. I am also wondering what your stats are because they would let me better judge what the decision will be

Great news blobhead! I’ve been wondering!

Oh I remember now why I still have the UP picture. It’s because I didn’t apply for any alternate schools. Oh boy, on the bubble chart it says I’m at yellow. I dunno about my chances anymore haha

@nanittendayo - You did apply for summer though undecided which could give you a chance but I looked back at your stats and the GPA may be too low for UP and if you had a branch you probably would have been accepted there

i was in the black and i still got in.
relax guys ull be fine
cant wait to see you guys at school
even tho i prob dont know ur names

Well I might get lucky. This is my reach and number one choice anyway, followed by Stony Brook. Thank goodness I already got into two colleges already (Umass and Uvermont)

ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATIONS SUMMER SESSION 2014
MY HEART IS BEATING SO FAST

Stats:
SAT: 1640
GPA: 3.4
Rank: none

Subjective:
Essays: none
Teacher Recs: good
Counselor Rec: good

Location/Person:
State or Country: new jersey
School Type: public
Ethnicity: asian
Gender: female

Accepted- college of communications

omg @tiffany18 SO AWESOME!! hopefully in the next few days i’ll be joining you!!!

Congratulations to all those who got in.

I am still confused and a little disappointed I was delegated to my local branch instead of UP.

My stats again:
3.8 weighted GPA (9th, 10th, 11th grades) / 3.6 unweighted
1850 SAT
27 ACT
Class rank: 80 something out of about 400
2 great teacher recommendations (astronomy and physics teachers)

Applied with astronomy/physics as my top intended major. When I was accepted, it said I was accepted with an intended major of astronomy/physics in the Eberly College of Science, but at my local branch campus.

I cannot do the summer session because I have commitments to play golf and baseball up until the second week of July.

Could I call and ask if they would take a look at my senior year transcript? Because they don’t see it unless they ask to see it. I am incredibly proud of my grades so far this year. I’m taking three AP classes and 1 honors class (in the first semester) and my weighted GPA is a 98.

if your status is still evaluating credentials and you applied in October what are your chances

my picture is still UP and I did not select alternate. Status is now “reviewing credentials… decision will be released soon…”. Does this mean I may be admitted, or is there still chance of getting rejected?

when did you get decision to be released soon if your not getting in why would it take so long to let you know

However, I might be OK with starting out at my local branch campus. There are downsides: not feeling totally “part” of the entire school, not meeting everyone in your class right away, etc.

But there are also things that benefit me. I’ll be able to commute and therefore save money by not paying for room and board, and it’s a smaller environment to jump into. As a more reserved, independent student, it might be better to slowly mix in with a smaller group before going to University Park. And my local branch campus has a golf team that I can play on, whereas University Park only has Division I and I’m not good enough to play Division I golf.

So even though I was initially disappointed that I wasn’t accepted to UP, especially seeing that people with lower credentials are getting in over me (and that still does bother me…why???) …but I might be better off starting at my local branch anyway, and then transitioning to UP for my last 2 years.

@tiffany I’ll see you in June! And we have the same major! Congrats

@ronredd96 thanks im so excited penn state is my top choice so spending my entire summer there is nbd (:

@hopmayer hopefully keep us updated :)

Just notified of my little dudette’s acceptance to the College of Agricultural Sciences at UP, Fall 2014. What a relief! She really wants to go!
