It’s about time to start the Class of 2020 Admission Decision Thread!! History tells us that some acceptances will start rolling in by early November, even though most won’t hear until Dec/January (So don’t panic!). Good luck everyone! I hope we start seeing this thread fill up in the next few months.

Last year the first acceptance wasn’t posted on CC until 10/30 and the year before it was in early November. That being said, the VAST majority of students don’t hear until December and January. We went crazy last year, so it’s probably better to set your expecations for later rather than earlier and be pleasantly surprised if they come in earlier than January! Best of luck!
@zipbags I think that the status changes to under review for everyone once all of their materials are in. My status also changed once I send my transcript in, which was my final missing piece. I am the first one in my family to go through this app, however, so I could be wrong here. Best of luck to your daughter and to the rest of the applicants here!
@zipbags last year, my D applied Sept 2nd. By Sept 8th her application was complete and her application status changed to under review. It stayed that way until January 26th when she got her acceptance. As @PennsyDad alluded to, I was very active on the decision thread The wait about drove me crazy because my daughter had her heart set on main campus (since she was about 5 years old!). So to say I was stressed is an understatement. I say that to let you know that the parents and students here who have gone through this before have the benefit of hindsight and we are much calmer about things than the families going through it now. I had plenty of “seasoned pros” talk me off of a ledge last year (as well as a few very not nice people - but they were few and far between). My daughter is at PSU now and I stay on CC so that I can add a tidbit here and there about what I learned last year, because the transition was awful. My D is my oldest, so it was a steep learning curve. The thing to keep in mind is that PSU’s admission process is random. Your child may have applied before a friend, but the friend will hear first. Pay no attention to that. It means nothing in terms of acceptances. Best of luck to you - and try not to drive yourself crazy. Easier said than done - just know that your daughter will know by the end of the year. If she hears sooner than that, consider yourself lucky!
@jlhpsu; the smiley face at the end of my last message did not post and i could not see where to edit on my phone. You provide many with info…you were kind of funny at times though last year.
i agree this is my 3rd time around and my D applied to PSU for summer sept 8th and is under review- She heard from 2 other schools that are rolling
but PSU waits till dec or jan. only the kids with extremely high scores hear in oct
So we met with my daughters guidance counselor today. One interesting thing. She showed us last years graduating class…what their gpa was, sat score, what school they applied to and if they were accepted. She showed us each of the schools my daughter applied to. With Penn State we saw two kids with gpa and sat. Once was accepted and the other rejected. Since they both had the same major. The guidance counselor believed it was due to when they applied. One early…the other later.
On the application status it says, “Your application is incomplete. Please see your Application Checklist for details”, but on the Application checklist it says that I’ve completed all the requirements (App fee, transcript, and SAT/ACT scores). Am I missing something? The only thing I could imagine is the counselor form but I’ve already had my counselor fill it out and send it. Any insight would be welcome, thank you!
Yes!! That just showed up for DS today! The transcript just hit the system yesterday, but there had been no change in status. I checked today expecting to see it was complete. I emailed them to ask what was missing. I’ll let you know if I hear back. Assuming it’s a glitch.
@s16s18s21s25 haha glad I’m not the only one that this showed up for! I also think it’s just a glitch but yeah, please let me know what they tell you. Thank you!
Same, does your page show the campus of choice on the left and your major on the right?
I’ve called twice, they have everything but took 3 weeks to post check marks. Also our school received an email that transcripts were showing missing but we’re there!
@amomoffour ya my page shows the campus on the left and major on the right. It took absolute ages for them to confirm that they had my SAT scores. I was looking forward to them finally confirming that everything was complete but here we are now
