Got in for summer session at UP for engineering with 3.85 uw and 1210 sat!
@strength1108 What was your sisters SAT or ACT score? Sorry to hear of the rejection. A 3.3 GPA can be offset by a good test score but I’d guess you need above 1300 SAT or around a 29 or 30 ACT.
@ blong1412 Lotsa info out there on Summer. Cost is roughly $8-9k. But actually more like $10-$11k if you would have worked a summer job and saved a couple thousand(opportunity costs)

@finnbd33 i was accepted for math as well!
If you are a transfer student you cannot go directly to main campus. My daughters friend applied as a transfer and this is what she was told after she applied main campus and was given a satellite one instead. Because of this she transferred to Tulane instead.
hello! i’ve been following this thread for a pretty long time now and, after 2 months of feeling insecure about my stats, i just discovered i got accepted for fall!
major: engineering (undecided)
GPA: 88.17/100
ACT: 29
rank: 5/165
good luck to the rest!
@tiredhuman University Park?
^yes
My heart breaks a little bit more each day for my daughter. Running out of things to say to her, other than she will know sometime in next 6 days. All of the admitted stats posted here are encouraging, but won’t help until she hears if she is accepted. Its been a long 5 months.
@BreBre235 you are the first person that i have heard that applied for math! I am a girl and i think that also helped me get into the program
@MYOS1634 My sister had many honors and 3 ap’s. She followed everything you said. But her SAT score was a super score of 1100 @Oneiota She had excellent ec’s, president of clubs, great personal statement, and letters of rec (although they are optional.) It makes me upset because our school is one of the most competitive schools in NY and people who took all regular classes with a low gpa got in. It might have been the SAT score. For myself however, I have over 10 Honors and 4 AP’s (more than my sister) and my ACT score is projected 30. (After doing pracitce examinations.) My gpa is a 3.5 although it’s weighted. I’m not a bad student but my course rigor is very challenging, just as my sisters aswell.
Have they sent out many rejections/summer acceptances?
I have been silent for a while while watching this thread and checked my portal this morning to find myself accepted to Eberly College of Science for Summer with a 3.6 GPA 29 ACT and 1360/1600 SAT. Was wondering what my chances of being accepted to Fall would be if I got reevaluated for DUS. Also, if I ask to be reevaluated and don’t get accepted, can I accept the offer for Summer still?
@psuug21 Did you specify a major within Eberly College of Science?
I applied for Statistics
Son denied to Mechanical Engineering:1400 SAT (760 Math) GPA 3.6 - 3.8 weighted: Honors and AP for all Math, Science courses. 3 years of Chinese. I just don’t get it.
He’s being considered for the 2+2 Erie Campus
@MSMead That makes no sense. Those SAT scores are great.
