Hi all! I applied Early October to UP. I was denied from the business school on 1-25 but immediately switched my major to DUS that day. Does anyone know if I should still get my decision tonight or will I have to wait for regular decision?
@dpschool Not necessarily. Decisions can be made and are released in batches so that the admission office isn’t overwhelmed with calls. The decisions for everyone are likely made by now.
My son’s application status still hasn’t changed, BUT Summer Option Selected suddenly changed to NO. I have it as Yes on the print out. I look everyday and it has said YES. Not sure what THAT means!
Got my decision on Sunday after the long wait (I thought it would be posted mid January). I got accepted!
@stefaniexx 3.7 GPA /30 ACT Tons of Extra curricular and leadership, lots of kids from her hs in NJ were accepted and like I said before, some had lower stats and got into Smeal at UP.
@BigLank925 we sound identical to application time and denied SMEAL on 1/25. I called and changed to DUS and got my acceptance after midnight Friday so you should not have to wait until March. They told me it would be a 2 week wait but it wasn’t for me. I got in Fall DUS UP. You may not get it tonight but it should come within the 2 weeks.
Nothing yet, when should they come out?
STATUS CHANGED! My son was accepted into the IST Data Sciences program at Altoona. Although, we all hoped he would be at UP with my junior daughter, I believe Altoona will be the best fit for him. So happy and relieved! And Proud!
WE ARE! so dang happy!
Site down–anyone else?
@dpschool yeah it is down
portal still says under review…so international students will get decision in Mid-April?
why haven’t I received a decision?
They have until midnight tonight for decisions. If you don’t get one today, call and double check when your application was considered complete. Complete means tests scores and transcripts were in by Nov 30, not just the application.
At this time of year they release decisions more than one time a day…or at least that was true in previous years.
@jlhpsu I submitted everything mid/late October so I should be receiving one today I guess

Just accepted my son’s Altoona Admission offer and the app stated there was housing still available for fall.
Not sure how accurate that is, but thought I’d share. Poor guy is home sick today, but he is so excited to be a Nittany Lion!
@PSUMamasita that’s good to know. Thanks. I’m hoping I can talk my son into considering this option.
@dpschool I understand. My daughter is now a junior at UP and she had stated if she didn’t get into UP she wasn’t going. Fortunately she got in to UP which saved me the argument. PSU is a great school and the smaller campus environment will be better for my son to acclimate. We would have applied directly to Altoona for my son if my daughter wasn’t at UP. In the end he got the campus best suited for him to really take advantage and set the foundation for his future. Best of luck to you!
@PSUMamasita I assumed they must hold back some housing for the students who get in after applying first to UP. Good to know they do, because they should! My son applied directly to Altoona for the same reasons - I think the smaller campus will be better for him. He also has a sophomore sister at UP so I am sure he will be at UP a lot anyway. Congrats to your son!
I was accepted into Altoona this morning which I was happy about but I was hoping I’d get in for summer sessions so I called the admissions before and they said I never put summer on my application(thought I did) but anyways they updated my application and said they’d consider me for that now. Crossing my fingers I get in! Does anyone know how long it’ll take them to decide?
