PSU Class of 2022 Decision Thread

I applied November 29th getting priority application but still didn’t hear back. Have decisions been coming randomly or in waves? Also, when do you think I will hear back.

@PAHoosier I get it, I really do! My nephew applied also and is still waiting. He has a 4.5GPA and like a 1500 on the SAT. And he got a perfect on his AP Chem exam. So, a high stat kid - still waiting. He applied to engineering though even though I told him to go the DUS route because you just never know. I expect him to get in with no problem but the waiting is tough!

Hi,my son submitted on Nov 7th through coalition app…still waiting…the SRAR says received but not completed. He is a very high stats kid…hopefully we will know in a couple of weeks

My D applied September 1 to the College of Education (elementary ed). Her GPA is 3.98 with 8 honor classes and a SAT score of 1220. UP is first choice, Summer session is 2nd choice, and branch campus is her last choice. She is so hoping for UP in the fall or summer. Both my husband and I are alumni. I understand that she will not hear until January, but the daily check ins multiple times a day certainly makes the waiting game worse!

What are my chances? Penn is one of my top choices. I submitted my application October 28th. Portal still says "Penn State is currently receiving a high volume of supporting application materials. Applied to: College of Education

@jlhpsu it must of been a glicth because today its is saying under review again…ugh they are killing my stress levels here

I applied back in mid-november to University Park (Eberly College of Science). I was wondering when I will receive a decision, since some of my friends received them yesterday.

Nobody knows when a decision will arrive for a specific person.

If you want chanced for Penn State (not Penn), please make your own thread.

@anniebeck - When did you submit your application?

@jjnpsu im not sure the exact date, but beginning of October

I’m wondering if Eberly, engineering and premed program notification is lagging behind due to large number of applicants

Do u know when the BS/MD results come out?

don’t premeds get invited for interviews? at least some of them who are on the fence? so I would think the premed decisions would definitely be a January thing

I applied for pre-vet and have not heard anything. Nobody else accepted seems to have applied for it either, so I think you are definitely right about the pre-med/pre-vet tracks hearing in January.

Premeds don’t get invited for interviews, why would they? Any major can indicate a “premed intention”.
@PAHoosier : his odds are very good. Did he apply to Schreyer?
@cookie510: your child could be invited to the branch campus Honors college (the more residential branches have Schreyers branches). However considering his stats I’d quickly change major choice.

Not traditional premed or prevet, but accelerated @MYOS1634, and I think notification may be by year end or beginning of January

Sorry, didn’t see post #451. yes I think notification is in January.

@MYOS1634 He did not apply to Scheyer. Thought his stats we borderline for that and he wasn’t really interested for some reason.

That’s really too bad! I think the deadline is today (not sure) please ask him to - what matters for the Schreyer professors is whether they can see you in their class: are you thorough, is your thinking nuanced and deep, are you interesting, what will you contribute in a discussion? They look at course rigor, grades in Honors and AP, essays (very important), recommendations, EC’s.
However, he can simply register as a Paterno Fellow Aspirant and take some classes with the Schreyer students - but Schreyer students have a $5,000 scholarship that’s nice to have.

My application finally went under review, applied 9/26
