Anyone receive a decision on a Monday? I assume only Tuesday through Saturday.
@A1A1A1 Tuesday through Saturday primarily because the portal updates at midnight.
Has anyone else been accepted to the Engineering school? I read through the posts and only saw 1. My son applied in September.
Finally! I am not alone. Applied for mechanical engineering on Nov 29th and all my items reached on time. But the status has been the same since I applied.
My daughter applied to engineering in early September, her application was switched to in review on January 3 and she was accepted on January 4. Snail mail confirmation was received on January 6.
Her stats: ACT 34 (36 in math and science); SAT subject tests- 800 biology, 780 Math 2, 780 Physics
AP tests- BC Calc (5); Physics C (5), English Literature (5); US history (5), US government (5) -she is in an IB program
@Jazzygirl17 my son’s stats were similar. OOS - VA. Communications major. Applied late November and found out he was accepted on 12/16. His app also had leadership, 13 AP/Honors, 2 Varsity sports, 150+ community service hours etc
Just trying to figure out my chances as I nervously wait; any advice welcome!!
GPA; 3.8
SAT; 1250( superscore) 1230 (reg)
black female
OOS
^ Liberal Arts- Political Science major
@monimonicollegepls : is that 3.8 weighted or unweighted? If you add all Honors or AP or AICE or IB classes taken, what number do you get? Have you applied to Schreyer? (if not, definitely express interest for Paterno Fellow Aspirant program! You’ll get to take some excellent Schreyer classes.)
I received that same exact letter in the mail today and I panicked, because I knew I had taken the right courses throughout high school and I figured that I had made a mistake in submitting the SRAR.
I checked my email later and found a short email from Penn State titled “Premature Communication” saying that that letter was sent “prematurely”, and that they are “updating [my] record to ensure that a thorough evaluation of [my] application takes place”.
Did you check your email? Look in all the folders, including spam, to see if they have contacted you. I will still be meeting with my guidance counselor to clarify all of this. Good luck!
Submitted my app in early December, still haven’t received an update.
Chance me for Smeal
GPA: 3.85 W
SAT: 1500
OOS
Edited bc typo
The deadline was 11/31
The “priority” deadline was November 30. People who met that deadline will hear back by January 31. People who applied by December 31 (the next batch of apps) will hear back by February 28, and so on. Source: http://admissions.psu.edu/apply/deadlines/
Smeal is a tough admit, and the later anyone applies for any major, the more spots will have filled up.
Applied before Oct.15…Accepted to Eberly college of science for premed Jan. 8…stats:
OOS
African American male
ACT:28
GPA: UW-3.7 W-3.9
AP’s:6

Does anyone know if Schreyer’s acceptances are issued all at one time or are they too released randomly/rolling?
I believe they come out all at one time
My daughter was accepted to chem engineering mid-december. Applied mid-november
My daughter received hers on a Saturday mid december. The site was actually unavailable most of the morning, then we checked in afternoon and that’s when we saw the acceptance.
I applied to PSU in early September as an education major, and I have not heard yet. Should I be worried?
My stats are:
SAT: 1240
GPA:4.0
Double legacy, lots of activities/ leadership positions, and a good essay.
