@kme57310 : no need to worry, you’ll hear by Jan 31. How many honors+AP classes do you have total?
@ghostrider214 : Applying to Smeal past the priority deadline is not a good idea as there may not be any space left for premajors. Due to your stats you may be offered summer though.

My sons received their acceptances this week to the College Park campus (liberal arts majors). In a nutshell, they are out-of-state students with 4.2+ GPAs, 33/35 ACTs, 1450/1480 SATs, and 15 or so AP/intensified courses (largely 5’s on the exams). With regard to activities, they are year-round competitive swimmers, paid swim coaches, and weekly volunteers for a community center that supports underprivileged kids. I have no idea how the recommendations were – our school does not disclose them. In a nutshell, not as impressive as some of the postings I read where the students participated in a dozen clubs, captained four sports teams, and won eight math competitions and six science fairs, but I kind of like them… Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear!

I have 11 total honors and AP for freshman-junior year, and my senior year I am taking 2 @MYOS1634

@kme57310: you can rest easy then.

Does anyone know what time of day the portal is updated? I think I’ve seen on here before they update every night at 12 AM?

@psu89galions - what intended major and stats please?

Your stats are VERY similar to my daughter’s:
-applied September 1
-major is Elementary Education
-1240 SAT
-4.0 GPA

  • Double Legacy
and she was just accepted right before Christmas/Winter Break.

    Good Luck!

It’s listed in the entry above the second one I posted

Sounds like PSU was a safe school for 2kids!!! Congrats.

Woo just got accepted for Penn State Main Campus for Engineering! So happy with this acceptance!

Also under my admission decision there’s a button to click “Accept your offer for Admission”, should I click this because I’m not sure what it would do and I am not committed yet and still considering other choices

Also when do the packages usually come mailed to me?

@MYOS1634 Actually, that was a typo, I applied early November. With that in mind, what would my chances for Smeal be?

I am an OOS student and applied to Penn State in late October. Since I have not heard back yet and I see others have, should I be expecting a letter of denial? Just wanna prepare myself haha

@Tryintogetinn - The only downside to waiting is the housing. I accepted for my daughter even before she decided. I did not want her in supplemental. In the end my gamble paid off. She is graduating in May. She is an engineering major. She has a phenomenal job waiting for her in June in Boston.

NE_Pats12 - Not at all! My daughter applied 2 years ago in October, accepted to University Park for Fall on Jan 29.

@Jersey65 Haha thanks. I was feeling a little insecure!
