How does merit aid work at PSU? Does it come in the portal online when you’re admitted or the package in the mail?
Merit comes after acceptance but don’t count on much if any
@20182022 what is FTG?
For The Glory. It’s an invitation only accepted student program for the top high achieving students where they give out scholarship and pay for your hotel and you go to mock classes and dinners and stuff. It’s this coming weekend.
My application status just changed to “Your application is currently under review.”
I’m sure you’ll get in @dbj378
Decisions are starting to roll out again. My son was accepted into Eberly this morning.
@ppst, I agree with you my son is a high achiever and he just heard back today he had applied before November 30 for CS.
My daughter unweighted 3.8 Full IB, 1460/33 and tons of extracurricular stuff applied back in Sept. The entire family on my wife’s side went to PSU so my daughter was pretty upset when she didn’t hear back by the Holiday timeframe so she could share it with family.
Now that they still haven’t gotten back to her there is no chance she wants to go to PSU and I’m tempted to call up and ask for the Application Fee back. If you have Rolling Admissions it is really hurtful when kids fall through he cracks.
The only thing they guarantee is that you’ll hear back by January 31st if you met the priority deadline. Unless you don’t get a decision by then, they met their end of the bargain.
@caveatesq what major?

Does anyone know if PSU saves all denials till Jan. 31st if you applied before the Nov. 30th deadline? Is the college of nursing the last to submit their acceptances/denials?
I think I saw someone who got denied from up and accepted to a satellite campus a few days ago, but I’m not sure about full on denials. @ccs0623
@Sophley-thanks for the info. My daughter did not put for summer as she has to work in the summer plus I can not see paying an extra $8000 for her to attend a summer session when PSU is so expensive anyway. I think students need the break between senior year and the start of college.
They don’t save denials. As you can see kids with very very high stats are just now getting acceptances. It’s painfully random. Yes, some high achievers may hear earlier, but not all. Nursing released some acceptances, but we didn’t hear back until 2/1 last year and we applied on 9/1.
@ccs0623 , if we weren’t a local family, I honestly don’t think we could do it. Local kids aren’t required to live in dorms for Leap. Good luck to your child!
