He applied on 9/1 with summer option and status changed to under review around the end of Oct.

@weareMom I don’t think my son checked before he went to school this morning and right now it is only 12:02 PM here but as of last night supposedly still nothing because he volunteered that he checked the portal nothing from Penn State .
@mag6407 Wait what does applying for the summer do? My son did not do that but my son’s stats are almost identical to what you wrote. As of last night he said he had not heard yet. And he also applied first choice to University Park. We are coming from Southern California .
The ability to get into University Park if you are willing to start in the summer ( and so note in your application) are easier than if you are only willing to start in the Fall. I haven’t seen any characterization as to how much easier.
I got admitted into UP summer sesh DUS and I’m super grateful but was really hoping I’d get in for fall. Is there anything I can do to switch ? And I know summer sesh isn’t bad and is actually helpful but It’d be more convenient if I could switch to fall. I’m a little disappointed bc many people who have similar or lower stats got in for fall

I got denied at Penn State University park for Finance Smeal School of Business last night (Jan 22 2018). However I was accepted to Smeal Altoona for the 2+2 program. I need advice because this is my #1 school, and I cannot see myself going to a branch campus. I called the admission office and talked to a counselor. I asked her if I can be reconsidered as an DUS for summer, and after looking for a minute, responded that I would have the same outcome.
Although I find this hard to believe, I am trying to find another avenue. I would not mind studying Economics B.S. at the College of Liberal Arts.
Has anyone heard this before where switching to DUS would give the same outcome as my Finance major at Smeal?
Also is there any advice or way to better my chances of being reconsidered or maybe even appealing?
