WE ARE!!!

Accepted this morning DUS And summer.
3.2 UW
1210 SAT.
Not sure how people know their weighted GPA as we don’t know PSU’s formula.

My son was accepted last night to Smeal College at Harrisburg for the 2+2 program. After submitting his application in November and taking certain business courses at school, he has decided he would rather enter into the Division of Undergraduate Studies program. Can someone please explain how this works and if he even has a chance to be considered for University Park in the Undergraduate Studies program. Penn State is his number 1 choice.

@ronboy72 congrats! Somewhere in this thread the formula was posted.

checked the portal this morning and was accepted to University Park for Industrial Engineering: Applied in September
Stats:
GPA: 3.9UW 4.3 W
7 AP Classes- the rest Honors
4 year athlete- Captain of Football team
Scholar Athlete
Solid Essay

I mean for myself I wouldn’t want to change my major or w/e to increase my chance of admission. IDGAF.

@Joezzzzz sorry you are disappointed, but with your stats - 2/3 of the decision was your 3.2 gpa, which is well below the middle 50 and your SAT (1/3) is dead in the middle, you had to understand that UP was a bit of a stretch for you.

I’d encourage you to drop the attitude when faced with things that don’t go your way. There have been MANY alum who have found that a branch campus turned out to be the best thing for them. A smaller environment rather than being thrown into the pond and flailing.

best wishes to wherever you choose.

Still under review, gettin very nervous

Accepted 2 days ago Penn State Main campus summer session
SAT, 1310 780Math 530Reading
ACT 27 35M 19E 32Science
GPA 3.8 W
EC- captain varsity football, NHS, president of school club, volunteer youth coach

I still can’t believe there is no decision on my application. The stress is mounting. On paper, I seem to fit the criteria for UP. I am now praying for summer start.

Hi, I recently got rejected by University Park but got accepted to Erie. On my application status, it said that I got into the Smeal College of Business, but I thought the business school in Erie is Black School of Business??? Any insight? Also, is it possible that I can transfer to University Park after two years?
GPA: 3.65
SAT: 1380

@FutureCollege321 I don’t know anything about Erie but why don’t you call admissions and ask them to clarify? If it says you got into Smeal, then maybe you got in via the 2+2 program. Two years at Erie and then finish at UP in Smeal for last two years. Penn State UP is very large and hard to navigate. If you can’t figure out which school you got into, I’m not sure you’d be able to navigate UP.

Accepted this morning to UP Fall Session for Aerospace Engineering.
GPA: 3.4 (school doesn’t weigh GPA)
SAT: 1350 (700 Math, 650 English)
Full IB Diploma Candidate (including high marks in Physics HL and Chemistry HL)
Strong ECs and Recs
OOS / Haitian / Male / Small Private School
Strong upward trend in GPA from (3.1 in 9th grade to 3.7 in sr year)

Really happy to have been accepted, especially considering how competitive this year seems to have been so far. Does anyone know when financial aid packages are sent out? Good luck to all remaining applicants!

@japsmom “If you can’t figure out which school you got into, I’m not sure you’d be able to navigate UP.”

Not sure if it was your intent to come across as snarky or insulting, but that statement certainly did. Up until that comment, your post was actually helpful…

@Joezzzzz WOW! You obviously have a lot of bitterness and anger issues. Life is built up of positive and negative things in our lives and when it comes to the negative things, it’s how we move forward from them. Life sadly is filled with disappointments. Trust me… We do not think my son will be getting into any of the campuses of Penn State although of course his first choice is University Park. And although since it’s been his first choice since 10th grade he will be disappointed, he sure especially in a public forum is not going to be showing such anger. Of course he’ll be upset, especially with a lot of other issues that of been family all around him since August… But to act like this? Sorry to say but grow up otherwise you’re goomg to have a very difficult time dealing with life.

Posting for my sister - she was accepted today in UP in Health and Human Development!

ACT - 26; GPA - 3.95
Lots of Sports & ECs

Has anyone checked in the morning which has the standard “we have everything, app under review”, etc and thank the site updates in the afternoon with an acceptance. It seems there is a single midnight update. I’m not talking about when the site is crashed. I’m taking about checking in AM - with no update and the. By afterntok. An acceptance comes in. Anyone?

@simple0920 @japsmom @futurecollege321 Future college- please don’t listen to any comments that you can’t navigate U-Park. I am a mom, and very upset anyone on this site would say that. It sounds like you definitely received the 2+2 option and if you don’t mind going to Erie, then it’s all Penn State!! If you are first generation Penn State, you should not be expected to know all the colleges or how it all works yet. Take it from me, I am a PSU alumni, having done 3 semesters at Hazleton and 5 at U-Park, and my best friends and 4 year roommates AND my husband, were all met at Hazleton, and back then it was 1/3 of the size it is now. It’s a great experience either way. Just call admissions or email with any of your questions, they are very helpful. I have a daughter class of 2022 starting at U-Park, but she would’ve taken Altoona if that’s how it worked out. Have fun with your acceptance! You’ll visit UPark so many times during your first 2 years, you’ll know it all too well before you even get there!

@A1A1A1 Not sure if it changed, but from Oct-Dec it seemed like only once a day after midnight from all of our checking. But now that it’s so close to 1/31, hopefully it’s more often for all of you still waiting on news

@cgb2017 my son is still waiting on his decision from the same college. Similar stats to your sister. I was hoping today was the day but another day of waiting…
