@woodjill No way to know. Could be days, could be months. Decisions are random and admission is not true rolling. It is modified rolling. Meaning, if you apply by November 30 you hear by January 30. If you apply by December 31 you hear by the end of February - etc… In fall 2014, my daughter waited nearly 5 months for her acceptance. It happens.
@onthesearch814 Schreyer is an entirely separate entity than regular admission. If she elects not to apply to Schreyer it will have zero impact on her regular admission as they are not combined in any way. Also, Schreyer is based on interviews and essays, not on GPA and test scores. As for rolling admission - Penn State is MODIFIED rolling admission…Apply be Nov 30, hear by January 31. That’s their rolling admission. It is not first in first out. They do not go in order and PLENTY of really high stat kids don’t hear until January. So the fact your daughter has not heard yet means nothing as to her potential acceptance into PSU OR into Schreyer should she choose to apply. You get some money if she gets accepted to Schreyer so it’s always worth it in my opinion - but if she decides not to - it won’t affect her application at all.
I submitted my application at the mid/end of October. All of my stuff has been sent in and they have received it. How much longer until I get a decision??
@jmencher please read jhipsu"s last 2 posts…
Do alumni letters have any effect on acceptances?
I got in to CP today with a 97 weighted gpa and a 34 act score
@collegeclassof No. Penn State doesn’t even read recommendation letters at all unless it’s for the honors college.
@bodangles and @jlhpsu Thank you!. Everyone is stating they are separate, which I was always told, but it was the recruiter in her college that sent the first email about Schreyers which looked like a mass email, until my D received a personal follow-up the next day from the same person. They say they don’t all talk, but they must. In our case, she cannot apply for a Arts scholarship without applying to Schreyers, so that may be the reason. Either way, they all know a lot about everything she has submitted. It certainly doesn’t seem like different entities right now. Of course we assume regular acceptance isn’t based on the others or she would have never even tried. I know honors college gives $5k/yr, not sure if the arts scholarship is worth $500 or $5,000. All of this just adds to the waiting process we are all experiencing.
Is the admission’s website down? I’m trying to submit my Schreyer app…
Yeah, the website’s down. I can’t even submit my application.

Applied mid-September, portal changed to “under review” on Nov 3, accepted Nov 30.
@JSchoolorbust She attends a high school that has a very developed long-standing relationship with the community college. There are about 150 high school seniors in the Valley (from a handful of high schools) that are on track to graduate with an Associate in Arts degree from that community college. Many of those students will attend ASU or UofA, transfer the credits and enter college right out of high school as a sophomore/junior. There are hundreds of other seniors that won’t have enough credits to earn the AA degree, but will have enough to enter college as a sophomore. Also, the post won’t let me edit, but she submitted her app the end of September, not October.
is it updated in your portal that you are accepted and can you pls let me know what does the subject say when you are accepted in the email .
