Smeal College of Business (Finance) at UP for Fall 2018. I was starting to get worried since I’d sent my application in on Nov 30.
International student, Indian, Male, studying in Dubai.
Avg. SAT (1370), but tons of diverse EC’s, great grades and essays.
Finally though, phew! Goodluck to everyone still waiting :’)
Does anybody know what the percentage of juniors that get admitted to smeal is? In other words, how likely is it to get admitted to smeal as a freshman, but not as a junior?
@varqueesh That’s up to each individual. Meaning, if you meet the entry to major requirements, then no problems. But if you don’t then you go to plan B. Lots of kids don’t make the GPA and have to find another plan. But like I said, that’s up to each individual so there is no way to predict that.
^ but there should be data. Either DUS or Smeal should have this data.

Am I able to be reconsidered for University Park? I applied to UP for Politically science and I said I’d do the summer session. Is there a way I can be reconsidered?
As your GPA and SAT are somewhat low for University Park (see https://budget.psu.edu/CDSRedesign/cds.aspx?reportindicator=FreshAdmn&Location=UP&AY=20172018), I’m guessing it’s not likely that they would reconsider, even for another major.
Has anyone who applied by January 31 gotten a decision today? On their website it says it is supposed to come out today but so far nothing.

I applied early December to smeal. International student. Haven’t heard back yet. WHen can I expect my decision? I’ve fitness decisions from all my universities just waiting on this one!!
Got final decisions*
My son was accepted to engineering (2+2) Harrisburg. He was also accepted to Iowa state and Arizona State. Is it better to take 2+2 at harrisburg and switch to UP later on or choose Iowa state/Arizona state over Harrisburg ??
Penn State Harrisburg is heavily commuter, though there are some dorms and nearby apartment complexes. I think Iowa State or Arizona State are better choices, particularly if your son wants the big college experience.
Are there anyone who applied before the priority deadline but still hasn’t received a decision yet? I still haven’t got mine…Cry…
