I was fortunate enough to be accepted to both PSU Schreyer's and Notre Dame but now I am faced with a very difficult decision.
There are things that I really like about both universities and I can definately see myself both places. So it seems like the major issue is money. If I go to PSU I'll come out with relatively no debt but if I got to Notre Dame I'll come out over 100 thousand in debt.
I'm just wondering if Notre Dame is really worth all of that debt just for my undergraduate. Especially since I plan on either going on to medical school or graduate school.
Any ideas?

PSU Honors >>> ND + $100k debt, IMO.

I concur with UCB. Culturally, these schools share a lot of the same characteristics with the single biggest difference being the much greater size of Penn State. But PSU Schreyers is good stuff, the kids in the program are very talented and such an offer would be a tough competitor vs ND at equal cost. With the extra money benefit, I think PSU is going to be the better choice.

Notre Dame has more prestige - and probably better academics overall. But 100K is a lot of money. If you're really OK with both, PSU seems to be the wise (and fiscally responsible) choice.
Plus PSU beat ND in football last year :)
Schreyer makes a difference - but you need to be assertive and take advantage of the many opportunities. Most do...some don't. Great bunch of kids though.

I would choose Penn State. I've worked with a lot of Penn State graduates over the years, and never met one who did not like Penn State. You can put the extra money into an MBA!

I would choose Penn State.

I don't even see why this is a huge decision. Schreyers is amazing. Notre Dame is a great school. I would say they are the perfect example of balancing academics and athletics, but we have all seen their football team (ha, had to throw that in there). I go to Penn State University Park. I am not Catholic, but I almost certainly would have gone to Notre Dame over Penn State under normal admission. Schreyers is very prestigious and a great deal. In this situation, I would definitely pick Penn State.
