PSU (University Park) Class of 2017 Admission Decision Thread!

Thanks for the answer, and I just got done browsing their website and found something under their admissions blog saying that the admissions office will be reopening tomorrow. So, does that mean that they are going to start looking over applications again tomorrow, or will they restart on Monday when classes begin?

They should start reviewing them again tomarrow, and I think if you applied before Nov 30 you will hear back by Jan 31.

Smithbarney I was accepted with a 3.4 GPA and a 26 ACT. Stay positive!

@smithbarney i was accepted with similar stats (28 act, 3.4 uw 3.5 w approx) into the Engi school (Comp sci)

@smithbarney same i was accepted to Smeal with 3.2 UW, 3.6 W, 1830 sat (same as 27 act)

@nittanycheer @thereelthing @jerseyjourney thanks for the words of encouragement, were you all accepted for fall of 2013?

I feel like I’m in the same boat as Smithbarney. I applied in Mid October with pretty similar stats to most of the people who have posted recently (28 ACT, 3.8 GPA), and it is starting to make me really nervous that I haven’t hear anything back yet. I guess all I can do is wait it out like you Smith, hopefully we get accepted soon.

Also, I haven’t heard of anyone being rejected from UP or deferred to a branch yet. At least on this thread and at my school. Has anyone else?

Admission Decision: Accepted
College: College of Engineering
Major: Computer Science
 :D

Guys i have a doubt. I’ve been accepted in both purdue and penn state. No scholarship for either one. Where to go???

@user999 only if your major id aerospace eng or mechanical then goto purdue. Overall penn state is better…

@XtremePower but the new world ranking rates purdue above penn state and in c.s far above…??
and one more thing… in purdue i’ve been accepted in college of sciences and in penn state in college of engineering… does it makes any difference??(purdue offers c.s only at college of sciences)

Ok Purdue is more known for its excellent aerospace eng program and even mechanical eng. All other programs are kind of the same. So, are you in state for either ? go with the cheaper one since both are good colleges but its harder to get into penn state than purdue. Visit both if you can but over all penn state has better recognition and lets not hijack this thread…PM me

Does anyone have an idea as to when the next batch of decisions will be sent out? All of my paperwork was submitted by November 1st, including my SAT scores, and I still haven’t heard back. Is this a bad sign?

Hi! He took the ACT/Score 32…GPA 93 Several AP Courses, Outstanding letters of recommendation, HS Baseball Team and Legion Baseball (Not going for sports), EMT volunteer, lots of volunteer work, French Club, Science, Interact Club, John Hopkins Course (Engineering/9th grade), 2 College Courses this year, and applied to PS on 10/31. He also applied to Schreyers. BELIEVE62

Above post reply to JerseyJourney

@believe62 he will undoubtedly get accepted to Smeal, perhaps they’re deciding on whether or not he’ll be admitted to Schreyers? which i’m pretty sure he will get into too!
