^ Same question I asked on another thread. All acceptances so far?

From a PSU admissions page:"an admissions decision will be posted here in the coming days.”

And guess what? That’s true! This change means that your decision is close at hand, and you should know your admission status within the week (typically 3 business days).

Understood. But early on, are they all acceptances? We are wondering if anyone is not getting in at this point.

From my understanding, the obvious acceptances and the obvious denials find out first. Then everyone else. This is why admissions tells people that while some will hear in November, MOST will find out in Dec and Jan, regardless of application date (if prior to Nov 30th). So, if your stats are high and you have a coming days status, It would be a good bet you are in. If your stats are low, then you probably arent…And if you stats are decent but not top, then you probably don’t have a coming days status yet because you won’t hear until later. I’ve read a lot of the threads in my parent anxiety mode and that appears to be the case. For example, all of the acceptances so far have been students with very high stats…

As far as the “coming days” status I believe they mail the letter when they post the status. So, you get the letter the same day your status changes to accepted/denied. I expect the people that had a change of status on Friday will get their letter on Monday. Three years ago my DD got the “coming days” status on a Thursday and her letter came on Saturday with her updated online status.

Congrats on all the acceptances guys!!! Don’t know when my status changed, I think it must have been Friday or Saturday, but it says a decision will be made available in the coming days. Did you all receive letters before the online status changed to accepted? Don’t know what to expect first!

Just got my acceptance! OOS New Jersey, slightly high stats, applied late september/things in by early october. Status changed Friday, no mail today, acceptance at around 6 pm. yay - Smeal BUS school

I have a question though: If i put in my applications RM actuarial science, am I already in that program, or am I in their Business School in general, and if I get a 3.2 GPA, then I become eligible for that program?

Son accepted to Engineering, UP. Applied 9/8. OOS (Texas), 30 ACT (33 Math), 1970 SAT (740 Math), class rank 7.3%, GPA 4.977 weighted on 6.0 scale at very competitive high school. Did not submit teacher recommendations, but did have outstanding ECs, including many distance running awards (Jr. Olympics qualifier in 200m steeplechase, 4 year Varsity, team captain, MVP, etc.). Also accepted to Texas A&M and awaiting other schools.

maniactango, you are admitted to Smeal. You need to complete all the entrance to major courses with a C or better and maintain a 3.2 gpa to be admitted to the actuarial science program. I think the entrance to major courses are the same for all Smeal majors except for actuarial science you have to take the tougher Calculus courses. In spring of your sophomore year, you will ‘apply’ for your specific major.
